WASHINGTON, DC: Famous celebrities such as Cynthia Nixon and Marcia Cross backed Hollywood actor Mark Ruffalo as he slammed President Joe Biden's policy in Gaza, according to Newsweek.

In an X post, Ruffalo shared a HuffPost story including a joint statement from 12 former US government officials criticizing the President's stance on the Hamas-Israel.

The officials claim that Joe Biden's Middle East policy is "a failure and a threat to US national security" and that it "dehumanizes both Palestinians and Jews." They had earlier resigned from their positions due to the government's actions since fighting began on October 7.

Ruffalo shared his opinions on the joint statement on X, "Now from within what we have all been saying from the outside. What Israel is doing to the Palestinians is illegal and amoral and Biden's administration has signed off on the worst of it."

He added, "There is no end in sight—untold suffering unfolding and a disaster for Americans, Israelis, and Palestinians alike. The resignee statement speaks volumes to this issue."

Celebrities who supported Ruffalo included Cynthia Nixon from 'Sex and the City,' who reposted it, and Marcia Cross from 'Desperate Housewives,' who shared it with the caption "YES."

According to the media outlet, four State Department officials, three military personnel, one representative from the US Agency for International Development, and four members of Biden's political staff have signed the joint statement.

The statement read, "Each of us has sworn an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and as our nation celebrates its Independence Day, each of us is reminded that we resigned from the government not to terminate that oath but to continue to abide by it; not to end our commitment to service, but to extend it."

It added, "This failed policy has not achieved its stated objectives—it has not made Israelis any safer, it has emboldened extremists while it has been devastating for the Palestinian people, ensuring a vicious cycle of poverty and hopelessness, with all the implications of that cycle, for generations to come. As a group of dedicated Americans in service of our country, we insist that there is another way."

Internet shares mixed opinions as celebs back Ruffalo for slamming Biden's policy in Gaza

People on the internet stayed divided and had mixed reactions as celebrities such as Cynthia Nixon and Marcia Cross backed Mark Ruffalo as he slammed Biden's policy in Gaza.

A user wrote on X, "You'll still vote for him though," while one added, "Why not send out the Avengers?"

A person also stated, "Debate me on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Coward," whereas one mentioned, "Lesson? Next time, don’t vote for Hamas. Elections have consequences."

A user also commented, "Appreciate you continuing to use your platform to draw attention to our government’s outrageous shameless complicity. I wish more of your colleagues had a spine or a conscience," while one stated, "Thanks for standing with morality and humanity. Sir you are a real life Hulk too. More power to you." [sic]
