WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden on Monday, May 6, made light of his attempts to 'cut' out former president Donald Trump from the election in November, the New York Post reported.

Notably, at a Cinco de Mayo ceremony in the White House Rose Garden, Biden appeared to wing his joke after claiming that his Republican opponent "wants to cut Social Security and Medicare".

Referring to a recent interview given by Donald Trump, Joe Biden said, "He says there’s a lot we can do in terms of cutting. I’ve got one really serious idea of how to cut a candidate."

Biden cracked the joke despite Trump's almost daily accusations that he was behind all four of his ongoing criminal cases, including the current hush money trial in New York City for allegedly forging false business documents in 2016.

Moreover, Trump informed journalists at the courthouse on Monday, April 5 morning, "This is [Democratic Manhattan District Attorney] Alvin Bragg doing it for political reasons for Biden. This is a Biden trial. He’s a crooked president."

Before entering Bragg's case against him in December 2022, Matthew Colangelo, the prosecutor in charge of the New York prosecution, had the position of third-ranking officer in the Biden Justice Department, as Trump has pointed out.

Even though some Democratic leaders have attempted to prevent Trump from being on the ballot by claiming he led an uprising during the 2021 Capitol riot that prevented Biden's election from being certified, a criminal record would not stop him from running for office. In March, the US Supreme Court invalidated those attempts.

Biden brought up Trump's intention to cut Social Security and Medicare, citing an earlier CNBC interview in which Trump stated, "There is a lot you can do in terms of entitlements, in terms of cutting."

Moreover, Trump later informed Breitbart News, "There’s so much cutting and so much waste in so many other areas, but I’ll never do anything to hurt Social Security."

Internet mocks Joe Biden for joking about ‘cutting’ Trump from 2024 race

Several internet users trolled Joe Biden as the President made light of his attempts to 'cut' out Donald Trump from the presidential election in November.

A social media user wrote on X, "Biden is petrified of Trump because he will beat him in November. Biden should pack up his belongings now," while one added, "He’s afraid".

One person wrote, "My big fear is if Biden tries to cheat Americans out of their vote again there will be chaos. I don't want to see that happen," whereas one said, "I am a dictator! Only a joke."

One individual commented, "Biden is a zinger," while another wrote, "Real election interference and the mainstream ain't talking about it. F-ing unbelievable!"
