WASHINGTON, DC: At a private fundraiser dinner with billionaires in Florida on Saturday, April 6, the campaign of former president Donald Trump raised $50.5 million, according to the New York Post.

Notably, just months before the November election, the amount generated was more than double the record $25 million at President Biden's star-studded fundraiser at Radio City Music Hall in March. This boosts the GOP's finances.

Trump posted on Truth Social, "Biggest night in Fund Raising of ALL TIME!!!Will double up the Biden number of last week at Radio City. People are desperate for change. They want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! DJT."

The stunning amount, according to hedge fund manager John Paulson, who hosted the Inaugural Leadership Dinner at his Palm Beach estate, indicates that Republicans are supporting Trump.

Paulson informed the New York Post in a statement, "Tonight, we raised a historic $50.5 million for the re-election of President Trump. This sold-out event has raised the most in a single political fundraiser in history. This overwhelming support demonstrates the enthusiasm for President Trump and his policies."

Judge Juan Merchan scheduled Trump's criminal trial to begin on April 15, which would make it the first criminal prosecution of a former American president. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records last year, which prosecutors say was an effort to hide a potential sex scandal, both before and after the 2016 election. Moreover, attendees on Saturday paid anything from $250,000 to $814,600 per person for the dinner and reception held at Paulson's $110 million seaside property, which is close to Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort.
