"The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one I thought was the best decision for me at that time," he said.

"Am I gonna do that again this year? That answer is no. I'm not gonna do that," he added.

He shared that in 2020, his endorsement of Biden created a divisive nature of politics in America.

"I realized now going into this election, I'm not gonna do that and I wouldn't do that because my goal is to bring out country together...in the spirit of that, there's gonna be no endorsement," he said.

"I'm gonna keep my politics to myself," the actor added.

Dwayne Johnson's 2020 endorsement for Joe Biden

Johnson took to social media to announce that he is "proudly" endorsing Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris over Donald Trump in 2020.

"As a political independent and centrist for many years, I've voted for Democrats in the past and as well as Republican," read his social media post at the time.

"In this critical election, I believe Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the best to lead our country, and as my first ever (public) Presidential endorsement, I proudly endorse them for the presidential office of our United States," he added.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Biden responded to Johnson's endorsement at the time as he tweeted, "Thank you @TheRock for your support at this critical moment for our nation."

"You said it best: This election is about earning the respect of the American people. It's about decency. It's about electing leaders who tell the truth," he wrote.

Internet divided over Dwayne Johnson's decision to not endorse Joe Biden

After Johnson refused to endorse Biden for the 2024 election, netizens rallied to weigh in on his decision as he expressed a shift in his political stance.

"I wasn’t sure if he was saying he wasn’t voting for Biden or wasn’t going to use his influence to encourage anyone to vote for a specific candidate. But either way, I feel like the winds are changing in Hollywood. Even they can’t deny it anymore. #Trump2024," a user opined.

"It sounds more like he doesn’t feel like he should be involved in politics not that he’s going to vote any differently," one user tweeted.

"Lost all respect for The Rock! Don't trust him at all!" a netizen wrote, while another user wrote, "How arrogant. Saying he has influence and that it was his job?? Whoever votes based on the opinion of one man shouldn’t be voting,"
