'It's the law': Internet disagrees as Laura Ingraham says DA Alvin Bragg and Judge Juan Merchan are determined to cause harm to Trump

'Harm against Trump and harm against the faith that we're supposed to have in our justice system', said Ingraham

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a recent monologue on the 'Ingraham Angle', Laura Ingraham sharply criticized the legal proceedings surrounding the hush money trial of former President Trump, and targeted Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and Judge Juan Merchan.

Ingraham began her critique by humorously likening the names Alvin Bragg and Judge Merchan to a "slip-and-fall firm," painting a picture of opportunistic legal maneuvering often associated with personal injury claims and workers' compensation cases.

'Together, the names Bragg & Merchan sound like a slip-and-fall firm', said Laura Ingraham  (@FoxNews/Youtube)

However, she swiftly pivoted to a more serious tone, asserting, "But what we're learning today shows us that Bragg and Merchan should be the ones on the defensive here, because both seem intent on inflicting harm — harm against Trump and harm against the faith that we're supposed to have in our justice system."

She said, "Now, if you're wondering why in our almost 250-year history we hadn't ever put a president or a former president on trial, the comments from dismissed jurors should answer the question."

The crux of Ingraham's argument lies in the handling of jury selection and the subsequent fallout.

She highlighted the chaotic start to the trial, citing, "They started off the day going in the wrong direction with the jury selection, going from seven jurors to five, dismissing two who had already been chosen, but then seven additional jurors were seated, making it a full jury."

Furthermore, Ingraham aimed at the media coverage, suggesting a consensus among commentators that the trial's handling by Bragg and Merchan has been deeply problematic.

She added, "They have one alternate, and the goal is to get five more. Whether any of those jurors may yet be dismissed or step aside tomorrow is anyone's guess. Now, even the press jabbering about this case concedes how problematic this is."

Netizens react to Laura Ingraham's controversial comments

Social media erupted in response to Laura Ingraham's controversial remarks, with a wide range of opinions

One person tweeted, "That's. Not. News'"

Another person said, "Laura may be the next to go right after Watters. Fox is going to go through some things."

One more person said, "Aw Fox turned social justice warrior is something I’d never thought I’d see. Sucks to suck, he’s got dirt on all of you and that lil fish is going to sing before he goes to jail. I cannot wait to hear his secrets."

On the other hand, others said, "Holding him accountable is necessary!"

"Harm...it's called the law," read one comment.

"It’s not inflicting harm. Bragg is prosecuting him on criminal charges based on evidence. A jury of his peers will decide. The Judge is presiding over the trial. See how this works?" another comment read.
