PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Ivanka Trump’s decision to keep a low profile during Donald Trump’s latest presidential campaign was all her own doing, and it seems she’s quite content with it.

Unlike previous elections, this time around she made it clear that she and her husband Jared Kushner are focused on raising their three children away from the spotlight.

At first, many believed that Tiffany Trump might step in to take on a more prominent role, but it appears that the Trump family handed the baton to someone else.

“Ivanka is perfectly fine handing the reins to Lara [Trump] this time around. Not her circus, not her monkeys,” a source shared with the Daily Mail.

Turning point for Ivanka Trump after January 6

The insider elaborated that Ivanka Trump’s enthusiasm started to wane after the events of January 6, 2021 — especially after she was subpoenaed during the investigation into her father’s attempts to stay in office.

"She felt like she was being asked to reveal something she did not know anything about and she never wants to be in [that] position again," the source explained. "Her family means the world to her and she is now focusing on being a mom and other private ventures," they said, adding she is "completely happy where she is in her life."

For those who’ve been keeping up, Ivanka’s choice to step back isn’t a huge shock. She made it clear in a statement following her absence from Donald Trump’s 2022 campaign launch.

“I love my father very much,” she said at the time. “This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics.”

Lara Trump takes the lead

Married to Ivanka’s younger brother Eric Trump, Lara serves as the co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC). She’s been a familiar face on Fox News, where she often showered praise on her father-in-law and didn't hold back in her critiques of Vice President Kamala Harris.

Many people initially doubted Lara’s qualifications when she took on the RNC leadership role, but she’s proving them wrong and is now being called an “underrated political success story.”

“The job of the RNC leadership is to recruit the best and brightest candidates, support and shepherd their campaigns, and—drumroll—win the presidency and both houses of Congress,” GOP communications expert TJ McCormack told Newsweek.

“So, on a pragmatic, definitive basis alone, Lara Trump has done her job with flying colors. Any remaining critics of Lara Trump as co-chair of the RNC will likely be professional contrarians or shrill never-Trumpers," McCormack added.

Lara’s impact has been particularly noticeable when it comes to fundraising. According to Michele Merrell — a Republican state committeewoman for Broward County, Florida — the shift in leadership has been rather transformative.

“The fundraising is going through the roof… we were not doing very well before in that. The change in leadership has made all the difference,” Merrell told the BBC in July. “It’s reignited the party, it really has.”

Ivanka Trump has new priorities

After her experience in Washington, DC, Ivanka Trump felt burned out and made it clear that her priority now is her children. In her July interview with Lex Fridman, she opened up about her decision. “I’m not willing to make them bear that cost,” she said, referring to the impact it had on her kids.

Still, it’s not like Ivanka and Jared completely cut ties with her father’s campaign. Kushner told The New York Times ahead of the election that they still offered help behind the scenes when needed.

“If he calls her for advice or help on something, we’re always there,” Kushner revealed.

While Ivanka is content with her new role away from politics, it seems Tiffany Trump had hoped to step up. Insiders say that Tiffany — who was mostly out of the spotlight during her father’s presidency — had her eye on being more involved this time around.

“Tiffany was barely seen or heard from during Donald’s years in the White House — but she’s angling herself to be a major player if he regains the office,” an insider revealed last year. However, with Donald Trump sharing news of her reported pregnancy with husband Michael Boulos, it looked like Tiffany realized the situation wasn’t in her favor.

Instead, she chose a different path while Lara swooped in and took the reins of the GOP.
