WASHINGTON, DC: Jack Schlossberg, the only grandson of President John F Kennedy, did not join those analyzing newly released government files about his grandfather’s assassination.

Instead, he took to social media to criticize President Donald Trump and other Republicans over the handling of the documents.

Jack Schlossberg says 'President Trump is obsessed with my grandfather'

Jack Schlossberg, 32, the son of Caroline Kennedy, has been a vocal critic of the Trump administration.

He has previously mocked Republican candidates and his second cousin, Robert F Kennedy Jr, in comedic social media posts, as per The New York Times.

But the unsealing of 80,000 pages of assassination files made his criticisms more personal.

In a series of posts on X, Schlossberg expressed frustration that the Trump administration did not inform President Kennedy’s family before releasing the files.

“A total surprise, and not shocker!!” he wrote while asserting RFK Jr would have "definitely" known.

He accused Trump of fixating on JFK for the wrong reasons. “President Trump is obsessed with my grandfather — but not in his life or what he achieved in it. No, just like @robertfkennedyjr @realdonaldtrump is only interested in JFK’s carcass,” wrote Schlossberg.

Schlossberg further criticized Trump, Robert F Kennedy Jr and Republicans, stating, “These men are stealing history from present and future generations—by appropriating the past for their criminal agenda. They normalize themselves in the minds of those without living memory.”

Jack Schlossberg slams Trumps policies in comparison with JFK

Jack Schlossberg compared Donald Trump’s policies to JFK’s presidency, arguing that his grandfather’s legacy stood in contrast to Trump’s decisions.

“JFK drafted the civil rights act,” he wrote, adding “Trump made DEI illegal. JFK stared down Russia and did not blink—Trump is Russia’s closest ally. JFK sent a man to the moon—Trump gave Elon the keys to Air Force One. JFK created USAID—Trump eliminated it.”

He also praised JFK’s efforts in supporting labor rights. “JFK stood behind unions and labor, demanding healthcare, higher pay. Trump is stripping working families from lifesaving care, financial support,” he stated.

Schlossberg further criticized Trump’s approach to culture and the arts. “JFK celebrated the arts and culture. Trump attacks artist’s identities, took over the Kennedy center just to empty it out and pave it gold,” he wrote.

Jack Schlossberg slams Republicans for 'dismantling' JFK’s legacy

Jack Schlossberg also responded to a post from Senator Mike Lee, a Republican from Utah, who questioned the delayed release of the assassination files.

“Why did it take so long to release the JFK files?” Lee asked on X.

Schlossberg fired back, writing, “You really care about JFK’s legacy? You’re dismantling it.”

The fascination with JFK’s assassination has persisted for decades.

Following the 1991 release of Oliver Stone’s film 'JFK,' Congress passed a law requiring all government records related to the assassination to be made public.

The National Archives states that 99% of the known JFK documents have now been disclosed.
