Jackie Glynn found buried on DeKalb County property

The suspect is said to have dug a hole on the family's property, where he buried his wife. Joseph Glynn was taken into custody on January 6 and has been given a $1,030,000 bond.

Jackie Glynn, a 76-year-old woman, vanished on New Year's Day. According to The Tennessean, her husband, Joseph, informed their kids that she had left the family home because of a fatal illness.

The children are currently working with law enforcement to figure out what went wrong and potentially contributed to Jackie Glynn's tragic death. Joseph was taken into custody on January 6 and accused of tampering with evidence, criminal homicide, and abuse of a corpse.

On December 16, 2023, Joseph allegedly dug a grave for his wife, Jackie Glynn, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office. Ten feet long, six feet wide, and six feet deep was the reported dimensions of the hole.

DeKalb County Sheriff Patrick Ray stated, as quoted by Law&Crime, "We went onto the property and found what we thought to be a burial site. We found out that the hole was dug on December 16 by a contractor who had been told by Mr Glynn that he wanted the hole for a burn pit."

Joseph Glynn admitted to tampering with wife's body

Joseph reportedly told the authorities that on Monday, January 1, he had killed his wife by hitting her with a hammer. In addition, the victim's husband is said to have admitted to moving her body to a house in DeKalb County located on the 4600 block of Allen Bend Road.

Joseph allegedly towed the victim's car to trick the police during the investigation after concealing the victim's body. Jackie's medical staff denied the suspect's allegation that she had informed her kids that she was terminally sick.

The hammer was purportedly thrown into a trash compactor by the suspect. Additionally, he is alleged to have made money off by selling a few of his wife's possessions.

Condolences have been sent to the bereaved family.

As stated by Tricia Alsup, who used to work for Jackie Glynn, "I started working for her in 1997. I actually got married there. She was part of making my dreams come true as well as so many brides, workers, and vendors."

According to the police, in addition to the charges already brought against him, there may be more charges pending against the suspect. The following scheduled court date for Joseph Glynn is Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
