Jamaal Bowman advised to ‘work as a salesman for an alarm company’ after his loss to George Latimer
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NEW YORK: Westchester County Executive George Latimer defeated Rep Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) in the 16th District’s Democratic primary.
Now, he will face Republican Madeline Brame in the November 5 general election, The New York Post reported.
George Latimer insists on ‘unity’ after his win
After his victory, Latimer told his supporters, “Tonight, we turn the page and we say that we believe in the inclusion of everybody.”
“It doesn’t matter your age, religion, sexual identity, whether you’re a right-hander or left-hander, whether you’re a Met fan or a Yankee fan — our inclusiveness in Westchester County is how we govern the people. You can’t destroy this country with your rhetoric and your arguments. We have to have unity,” the 70-year-old Westchester County Executive added.
Jamaal Bowman vowed to 'save the democracy'
This came after on Saturday, June 22, Bowman blasted the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) during a rally.
He accused the organization of “destroying our democracy.”
He reportedly stated, “We are not gonna stay silent while the US tax dollar kills babies and women and children. My opponent supports genocide. My opponent and AIPAC are the ones destroying our democracy.”
“And it is on us, it is on all of us to save our democracy and save our collective humanity. Because this race is about our collective humanity,” Bowman added.
Also, on Tuesday, June 25, he said, “We will continue to fight for a free Palestine, and God help us that we live in a better world where when we say ‘Free Palestine’ it is not antisemitic.”
Jamaal Bowman faced repercussions of a fire alarm incident
However, Bowman’s reputation has not been good. Last December, House members voted to convict him after he pulled a fire alarm in the Cannon House Office Building amid the ongoing chamber session, as reported by NPR.
The 48-year-old educator also pled guilty to a misdemeanor count for the incident in October 2023.
Internet users call Jamaal Bowman’s defeat ‘Good news’
Meanwhile, after Bowman’s defeat, people have trolled him online with a reader below The Post article commenting, “Falsely pulling a fire alarm is dangerous and can have devastating consequences. He should have been expelled from the House. His constituents agreed and did it today.”
Another reader posted, “Good news, now he can work as a salesman for an alarm company. Some experience needed.”
The third one wrote, “Buh-bye Jamaal. We barely knew ya but what we did we didn’t like. Enjoy retirement from Congress, and maybe go flip some burgers at McDonald’s, eh pal? He could go do some off with Santos.”
“Anyone who uses language publicly like Bowman did, as a representative in Congress, doesn't deserve to be around decent people,” the fourth one stated.
The fifth one added, “I hope today's results begin the disenfranchisement of the radical left who Have zero interest in the interests of normal citizens.”
