WASHINGTON, DC: James Carville has again urged President Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 race amid growing concerns over his capability to serve another four-year term.

During an interview on Mediaite's 'Press Club' podcast recorded before Biden's concluding press conference at the NATO summit, Carville expressed his belief that there is no path forward for the president to defeat Donald Trump in the upcoming November election.

James Carville says Donald Trump's reelection would be 'end of the Constitution'

Speaking about Joe Biden's candidacy, Carville said, “If the people don’t want you to win, you’re not going to win. And they clearly don’t want Biden.”

He further noted that a potential Trump reelection would be "the end of the Constitution.”

“I think that you are going to see a destroyed NATO. We’re going to be expressing the values of authoritarianism and totalitarianism," said the Democratic strategist.

"We’re going to continue down the path of lawlessness. I don’t know, what else can I say? They’re already telling it, this whole thing about Project 25, it’s almost predictable," he continued.

Carville, who served as a senior adviser to former President Bill Clinton, spoke about the conservative agenda as he said, “It would be so tragic and so against who we are as a country that you almost want to laugh at it."

“But the catastrophe that awaits, and I literally think this, I think it’d be the end of the Constitution. I really do. If we lose, we’ll lose the Constitution," he added.

James Carville says it is 'inevitable' that Joe Biden will withdraw his candidacy

Carville's criticism comes at a time when Biden faces growing pressure to quit the 2024 White House race following his disastrous debate performance on June 27.

The 81-year-old commander-in-chief lacked energy and appeared to stumble throughout the debate against Trump in Atlanta, sparking concerns about his age, mental acuity, and capability to run for President for a second term.

In the wake of the debate fallout, several Democrats and supporters called on Biden to withdraw his candidacy and allow another candidate as party's nominee, according to The Hill.

Speaking to NewsNation's Chris Cuomo on Monday, July 8, Carville said, “I don’t predict things, I’m just tellin’ ya, it’s inevitable,” that Biden will step aside in the presidential race.

“He will come to the conclusion. People will get the message to him. He will understand, his family will understand. They’ll pray on it and they’ll make the right decision," added the political pundit.
