WASHINGTON, DC: Rep James Comer (R-KY), chair of the House Oversight Committee, admitted in an interview that he has not been in contact with any White House whistleblowers regarding President Joe Biden's health, despite recent allegations of a coverup by Republicans.

Earlier this week, Comer's committee issued subpoenas to three of Biden's White House aides, aiming to uncover what they claim is a long-standing effort to conceal the president's mental fitness.

James Comer's concerns over alleged 'shadow government'

"We believe this has been going on for a long time," Comer told Fox News host Martha MacCallum. "We want to know what these three specific staffers knew, and we want to know who, in fact, has been pulling the strings behind the curtain."

Comer raised concerns about the existence of a "shadow government" operating behind the scenes. "Do you have whistleblowers who have come forward?" MacCallum questioned.

"We've heard of specific staffers who have reached out to different Democrats who have leaked it out to various sources, so these people are people of interest to us, but they haven't come forward to us yet," Comer acknowledged. "I think if Joe Biden doesn't make a decision soon, I would expect to see whistleblowers coming forward."

White House accuses Rep James Comer of 'doing gun lobby's bidding'

This development comes amid heightened political tensions, with the White House recently accusing Comer of colluding with the gun lobby. A letter penned by Rachel Cotton, deputy counsel to the president, rebuked Comer's claims of collaboration between the administration and anti-gun groups, labeling them as baseless attacks.

Cotton urged Congress, including the House Majority, to focus on legislative measures to combat gun violence, highlighting President Biden's initiatives to enhance gun control measures such as banning assault weapons and implementing universal background checks.

She suggested that Comer “should open a real investigation into an actual danger to our communities: the proliferation of illegal devices that convert handguns into machineguns in a matter of seconds.”

“The President has been clear that the Administration cannot fight this crisis alone. Congress has an important role to play in reducing gun violence. The President has called on Congress to ban assault weapons, bump stocks, and high-capacity magazines; establish universal background checks; require the safe storage of firearms; and repeal gun manufacturers’ immunity from liability. Such actions would save lives and help keep American communities safe,” Cotton wrote, per MEAWW.

“The House Majority should work with the President on these real solutions, instead of doing the gun lobby’s bidding by launching a baseless political attack on the Biden Administration under the guise of an ‘investigation.’”

Cotton criticized Comer's investigation as a politically motivated attack orchestrated under the guise of oversight, allegedly at the behest of the gun lobby. She urged the House Majority to prioritize genuine solutions to gun violence rather than pursuing baseless allegations.

Comer's investigation focuses on a legal case involving Glock Inc and Everytown Law, a gun violence prevention organization, which claims that Glock sold firearms that could be converted into automatic weapons.

Public skepticism surrounds James Comer's claims of whistleblowers

Comer's recent assertions about potential whistleblowers within the White House have sparked skepticism and criticism across social media platforms.

As users question the validity of his claims, citing lack of evidence and accusing him of spreading misinformation, the controversy surrounding Comer's statements continues to unfold amidst broader political scrutiny.

A social media user tweeted, "He didn't really have any whistleblower for the other crap he tried to pull."

Another said, “They” don’t exist."

A third claimed, "Lies. Every. Damn. Day."

"Can we just stop listening to Comer at this point?" said an individual.

"A "whistleblower" tells people something they DON'T know," mocked a user.

"Meanwhile it’s totally normal for doctors to visit the Whitehouse only no one will report the facts," read a tweet.
