Jane Fonda calls Harris-Walz 'only hope' to oust 'orange man' during climate activist meeting

WASHINGTON, DC: On Friday, August 16, actress Jane Fonda and other climate change activists came together to support the Harris-Walz campaign as "a proud climate ticket," according to Fox News.

‘Climate Voters for Harris’ launched a virtual call, marking two years since the signing of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, to talk about "the historic accomplishments of the IRA. We'll hear messaging guidance and the best ways for Climate Voters to get involved in the campaign."



 

The call was hosted by behavioral scientist Sweta Chakraborty, who mentioned the "palpable" excitement surrounding Vice President Kamala Harris being the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee.

The call also featured celebrity appearances from Fonda and TV personality Bill Nye.

Jane Fonda urged people to "vote with climate in their hearts," stating that the Harris-Walz ticket is "our only hope."

Other speakers included former Secretary of State John Kerry; Sen Ed Markey, (D-Mass.); and Washington State Gov James Inslee.

Inslee commented, "Kamala Harris really gets this" issue, recounting an experience at the White House where the vice president expressed "how excited she was" about climate matters.

Some speakers criticized the Trump-Vance ticket, alleging that they "cater to polluters" and wish to "roll back America's freedoms."

Kamala Harris has long been a champion for addressing climate change, once stating in a recently surfaced video that young people are not purchasing homes or starting families because of "climate anxiety."
