WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Jasmine Crockett came up with a prediction regarding the performance of former president Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris at the upcoming debate hosted by ABC News.

The Democratic lawmaker from Texas, in her appearance on MSNBC on Saturday, August 31, told host Alex Witt that the GOP nominee would act like a "whining child" whereas Harris would be the "adult in the room," as per Mediaite.

Earlier reports suggested that the Democratic White House hopeful was planning to be calm and get under her opponent's skin by pointing fingers at the failures he committed during his tenure in the Oval Office.

"So what’s behind the Harris strategy on this?" Alex Witt asked Jasmine Crockett.

"I think that she [Harris] wants to appear as if she is the adult in the room," she responded.

"What we will see is this whining child who will sit there and won’t give direct answers and honestly will distract and be a bumbling fool," the lawmaker continued about Trump.

Crockett added that the former president's such conduct was clear from his campaign trail, where he complained about sharks. "The guy is really weird and off his rocker," she added.

Crockett further noted that Harris' strategy would be two-fold. First, she would "assure the American people that she had a grasp on the issues and remind them of why we kicked him out in the first place." Second, the vice president would "remind them why we don’t want to go back".

Trump and Harris' first face-off on ABC News is scheduled to be held on September 10, hosted by David Muir and Linsey Davis.

In June, the 45th president debated President Joe Biden on CNN, which eventually led to the latter's exit from the 2024 race due to his lackluster performance.

Internet reacts to Jasmine Crockett's prediction about ABC debate

Netizens responded with differing opinions on Jasmine Crockett's claim about how the major party candidates would behave at the debate. While one group agreed Trump would be whining, some individuals asserted Democrats should not lower their bar.

"One thing is for sure, no matter how poorly he does, his cult will say he won. You can bet on that," a user commented on Mediaite's article.

"Trump's already whining, and the debate hasn't happened yet," another added.

"Not exactly a long shot prediction," a third user said.

"Easiest prediction ever. The felon will act like a spoiled high schooler because the uneducated hicks are at that level," read a fourth response.

"Dems should not be lowering the bar for this guy. The more the say he's going whine and meltdown or have a tantrum the easier it is for MAGA and the even the main stream media to let behavior less than this go," someone else wrote.

"Isn't that the same thing you fools said about President Trump and village idiot biden?" an individual asked.

"She's desperately looking for an excuse to get out of it," another added.
