JD Vance claims ‘weird’ Kamala Harris will allow ‘biological males’ to beat up women in boxing
ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Sen JD Vance (R-Oh) flipped the accusatory script of Kamala Harris and Democrats who call him "weird" by claiming that this adjective applied to them. Vance hit back at Democrats during his speech at the GOP campaign rally in Atlanta on Saturday, August 3.
The Democrats have reportedly promoted the partnership between the GOP nominee Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance as "weird," even at times referencing the debunked rumor that the Senator had sex with his couch.
In turn, Vance stated at the rally that Harris was the weird one as she would allow “biological males” to beat up women at boxing events. He was referring to the controversy being fuelled by conservatives about Algerian boxer Imane Khelif, who defeated her opponent Angela Carini at the Paris Olympics in 46 seconds.
Gender controversy in women's boxing at Paris Olympics
Prominent personalities such as Donald Trump, Italy Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and author JK Rowling have complained about Imane Khelif being allowed to compete, based on the fact that she was disqualified from the 2023 world championships after failing unspecified and untransparent eligibility tests for women’s competition. The test was conducted by the now-banned International Boxing Association, reported AP News.
Khelif was assigned female at birth and made her major tournament debut for the national boxing team in 2018. Though she has lost many bouts and was not known as a dominant champion previous to the current controversy, conservatives across the globe have slammed her online, even as the International Olympic Committee came to her defense.
IOC spokesman Mark Adams told reporters recently that there has been “a lot of misinformation around on social media particularly, which is damaging".
JD Vance launches volley of attacks on Kamala Harris
"Kamala Harris says we’re weird. Well, Kamala. I’m glad you brought that up. Let’s talk about some things that are weird," GOP vice presidential candidate JD Vance said to the crowd on Saturday.
"We think it’s weird that Democrats want to put sexually explicit books in toddlers' libraries. We think it’s weird that the far left wants to allow biological males to beat the living crap out of women in boxing. We think it’s weird for a presidential candidate to bail convicted rapists and murderers out of prison, and that’s what Kamala Harris did."
He proceeded to attack Harris personally, accusing her of speaking with a fake accent during her speech at the same arena the previous week.
"And I think it’s especially weird when Kamala Harris comes to Atlanta, I believe came here to this arena. Kamala Harris comes to Atlanta and talks with a fake Southern accent. Even though she grew up in Canada. You can’t make it up. That’s pretty weird. Go watch the clip," he shared.
"She sounded like a southern belle. Even though she grew up in Vancouver. It doesn’t make any sense. But on November 5th, she can go back to using her San Francisco accent. Because we’re going to send her packing and we’re going to reelect Donald J Trump."

Internet trolls JD Vance for slamming Kamala Harris over Paris Olympics event
Netizens reacting to JD Vance's comments on the Mediaite website claimed that his attack on Kamala Harris while referring to the Paris Olympics event looked "desperate".
"Is he talking about the Olympics? The international sports event currently taking place in France between athletes from the whole world including boxers from Italy and Algeria....? Yeah I can see how Harris had a lot to do with that..." wrote a user.
"Smacks of desperation and WEIRDNESS! Lol!!" jibed another.
"When did Harris find the time to infiltrate the Algerian Olympic Committee?" sarcastically asked a third.
"Yes, as a Democrat, I control the Olympics," quipped a fourth user.
"An Algerian boxer beats an Italian boxer in France. And this shytebird is crying about the soul of America. Weird," chided a fifth.
"What a weird idea to blame Democrats for decisions made by other nations," echoed yet another.
