EAU CLAIRE, WISCONSIN: GOP vice presidential candidate, JD Vance, attempted to catch up with Democratic nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris while both of their planes were on the tarmac of a Wisconsin airport on August 7, Fox News reports.

Former President Donald Trump's campaign plane carrying Vance touched down at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport, where Air Force Two, carrying the Vice President and her running mate Tim Walz, was also present.

Vance told reporters gathered in the place that he attempted to confront Harris for not answering questions from the media, while also checking out his "soon-to-be" aircraft. However, his action was not construed well by social media users, who accused him of stalking Harris.

JD Vance's interaction with reporters at the Wisconsin Airport

Landing at the airport, Vance reportedly walked straight over to Air Force Two, calling out a group of reporters, "Hey, guys. How are you?"

"I just wanted to check out my future plane, but I also wanted to go say hello to the Vice President and ask her why Kamala Harris refuses… why does she refuse to answer questions from the media?"

"And I also thought that the press gaggle following her might get a little lonely," he continued. "I, at least, have enough respect for you all, and for the American people you report to, to come and talk to you and to answer some questions. And so I thought her reporters might actually benefit from that as well," he said.

"So I had a little bit of fun. I don't think the vice president waved at me as she drove away, but, I'm glad to have done it. And I'm glad to be here in Wisconsin, actually trying to persuade people to vote for us as opposed to just giving another scripted speech," he added.

Harris campaign's director of rapid response, Ammar Moussa, later tweeted about the incident, writing, "Okay just to clarify: JD Vance is flying around the country following Vice President Harris. He approached her plane today because he just wants to talk. And now he's begging her for a debate? Ummm this is getting weird."

Internet trolls JD Vance for his stunt

Social media users called out Vance for trying to confront Harris at the airport and suggested he might be "stalking" the Vice President.

"Closest he’s ever going to be to that plane," wrote a user.

"Is he stalking her?" inquired another.

"So close and yet sofa," quipped a third in a pun.

"That’s exactly how he’s motivated, my plane. No it won’t be his plane," stated a fourth.

"Sounds like he's more interested in turbulence than leadership," jibed a fifth.

"Vance giving out frustrated middle school bully vibes," commented a sixth user.

"It’s a strange stunt that he’s trying to pull off for attention," expressed yet another.
