DALLAS, TEXAS: Police responded to a distressing scene in a Texas neighborhood after a distraught woman with duct tape on her arms and hands, and her husband, were brutally murdered in the street, in October of 2020.
Little did they know, it was a meticulously planned act orchestrated by Jennifer Faith, who conspired with her high school sweetheart Darrin Lopez to murder her husband Jamie Faith for financial gain.
Assistant prosecutor Caitlin Paver revealed the initial confusion surrounding the incident, stating, "The neighbors were all in a panic and terrified because it seemed like this masked gunman had come and committed this random murder in their neighborhood."

However, as investigators delved into the couple's marriage, a chilling plot unfolded. Jennifer married to victim Faith, had been secretly rekindling a relationship with her high school boyfriend, Lopez. Shockingly, she fabricated stories of physical and sexual abuse to manipulate her former flame into murdering her husband.
Jennifer and Faith's relationship had seemingly started on a positive note, with the couple set up on a blind date in 2005, eventually eloping in Las Vegas in 2012. They relocated to Dallas in 2017 for his job with American Airlines. The couple had been in Texas for merely three years when tragedy struck.
Autopsy reports revealed the brutality of Faith's murder, shot multiple times in the head, chest, and groin. Initially, Jennifer painted a picture of a random attacker, but her secret relationship with Lopez soon came to light.
Detective Christopher Walton expressed his shock, stating, "Jennifer had already explained to me that their relationship was good. That there was no one else. And nowhere did she ever mention Darrin’s name," as per Oxygen.

Lopez was arrested on January 11, 2021, and evidence found at his home linked him to the crime. The prosecution argued that Jennifer was the mastermind, pulling the strings and directing her high school sweetheart's actions.

In a shocking turn of events, Lopez confessed to the murder, staging it to appear as a robbery gone wrong. He was found guilty and sentenced to 62 years in prison, with an appeal pending. Facing the death penalty, Jennifer opted for a plea deal.
