'Are you jealous?' Jesse Watters stirs debate as he claims 'The View' hosts attack Trump because they 'want to be popular again'

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On the June 20 episode of Fox News' 'The Five', Jesse Watters took aim at the hosts of 'The View', accusing them of seeking attention and influence through a tactic he sees as borrowed from former President Donald Trump's playbook.

Watters' comments came as part of the panel's discussion as Jeanine Pirro claimed that Trump won't cancel 'The View' if re-elected, considering the show was "not important." Greg Gutfeld backed this view but with a twist.

Jesse Watters accuses 'The View' of seeking unfair prosecution for ratings

Before Watters shared his thoughts, Gutfeld said, "They think they are the center of the universe, and they believe they are so important that they pose a threat to the country. It’s almost like a humble brag, like, oh, my god, they are going to come for me. No, shouldn’t trump just call them up personally and say you will be fine."

"So they saw the kind of attention and money Trump got when he got unfairly prosecuted. And that is what they want. They want a 'MS.' They want a trial where all of their colleagues go down and report on the injustice they are receiving," Watters began, his tone sharp and accusatory.

He added, "Their ratings aren’t great. They want to be popular again. They are not as influential as they used to be, so they want to be unfairly targeted because that is historical."

Watters didn't mince words as he dissected the motivations he perceives behind 'The View's stances. His commentary reflected a belief that the media landscape is driven by a hunger for spectacle and narrative, rather than a pursuit of truth or justice.

"They want to have Trump make history with them, so that is what that is about," Watters continued.

"This leak to Axios was significant. This was a leak from the highest levels of Biden World saying this is a losing campaign, and they name check Mike Donnelly, who is Joe Biden’s oldest and dearest advisor and who is running a campaign for the first time not on policy," he added.

Watters stirs debate claiming 'The View' hosts are fishing for 'publicity and revenue'

Jesse Watters' pungent remarks sparked a heated discussion online.

One viewer expressed, "The view produces more toxic gas than COWS!!!!!!"

Another pointed out, "The View just isn't that important, let's move on now."

A follower observed, "The View should be sued for defaming so many people."

Yet another comment read, "Why are you so obsessed with the View. If we cared, we'd watch. CNN AND MSNBC too. Whenever you start I just fast forward. You need some original content and not parrot other shows."

"The View tells the truth unlike Watters. It's hard for you cult members to hear the truth," explained an individual.

"Hey Jesse are you jealous of the View? You sure talk about that show a lot. I think you are. Ya little bitch," read one comment.
