WASHINGTON, DC: First Lady Jill Biden gave Vice President Kamala Harris the cold shoulder when they sat together at the Arlington National Cemetery for President Joe Biden's Veteran's Day address on Monday, November 11, according to the Daily Mail.

Jill maintained a stoic demeanor at the time of her husband's speech, with her eyes hidden behind sunglasses. Seated beside her, Harris had the hint of a grin playing across her face and leaned into the Second Gentleman, Doug Emhoff.

The Veterans Day was the first time that Biden and Harris got together since the general election last week.

Jill Biden's grudge against Kamala Harris

The First Lady has not been fond of the Vice President since the latter had gone up against Joe Biden in the Democratic primary of 2020.

She had also reportedly been instrumental in pushing her husband to run for a second term this year. But Biden had to step aside after facing concerns over his mental acuity and nominated Kamala Harris in his stead.

Harris suffered a decisive loss in the election against GOP nominee Donald Trump. In all, the situation did not help gain Harris any favors with Jill.

During Monday's wreath-laying ceremony, Jill was joined by Emhoff, who also accompanied her to the amphitheater for the president's address. She greeted him enthusiastically and chatted away while taking their seats, as the two spouses have long reported to be close.

However, when Harris took her seat between them, Jill reportedly fell silent and chose to focus on the ceremony.

Internet reacts to tension between Jill Biden and Kamala Harris

Netizens trolled Jill Biden and Kamala Harris for appearing to be uncomfortable with each other. The following tweets demonstrate the predominant takes.

"You can cut the tension with a knife!" exclaimed a user sharing a clip from the occasion.

"I can feel it through my phone!!!" stated another.

"@KamalaHarris looks like the cat who swallowed the canary. Jill Biden looks like she’s ready to b***h slap somebody," quipped a third.

"Jill is good as an ice queen and can't blame her after what was done to Biden," shared a fourth.

"She went from the golden child to a loser in the blink of an eye. Now, they want to distance themselves from her. What a backstabbing party," claimed a fifth.

"Feels like it’s about to explode! Something’s definitely building up," echoed yet another.
