WASHINGTON, DC: First Lady Jill Biden was playfully trolled on social media after a child corrected her holiday greeting at a recent White House event.

The exchange, which took place during the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign on Friday, December 13, quickly went viral after a young attendee shouted, "Happy Christmas!" in response to Biden’s “Happy Holidays” greeting.

"If you only remember one thing for the holidays, after all the wrapping paper is cleaned up, let it be this: You are loved," Jill told addressing a group of military children. "There are so many people who care about you, from your family and your friends, from your teachers and your classmates, to the president and me."

She concluded her speech by waving at the children and wishing them "Happy Holidays." However, a child, clearly in the holiday spirit, enthusiastically shouted back with a correction, insisting, "Happy Christmas!"

Jill Biden, smiling, acknowledged the correction by responding, "Yes, Happy Christmas."

On the fashion front, Jill chose a simple yet elegant look for the event, wearing a plain off-white dress paired with a straight, slightly loose sequins waistcoat. She completed her outfit with a gold bangle and a long neckpiece which peeked out from beneath her coat, according to Fox News.
