NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former CNN host Jim Acosta reignited his clash with President Donald Trump over the POTUS' "shameful finger-pointing" after the deadly plane crash over Washington, DC on Wednesday, January 29.

Notably, President Trump blamed the Biden and Obama administrations' diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies for the crash, resulting in the death of 67 people, in a press conference, according to Daily Mail.

After Trump's statement, Jim Acosta took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to criticize the president. He wrote, "About the presidency, Harry Truman famously said "the buck stops here". Trump is trying to pass the buck and blame everybody but his administration for the DC plane crash."

He added, "This is a time for consoling the families and investigating the cause of this tragedy, not shameful finger-pointing."

The former CNN host's latest post is part of a long, heated criticism between him and Trump, per the outlet.

Acosta recently confirmed he was quitting the network after being removed from his 10 AM timeslot and changes in guidelines made by its CEO limiting the network's opinionated reporting about the President.

After his exit from the network, Trump took a jibe at him and posted on Truth Social, "Wow, really good news! Jim Acosta, one of the worst and most dishonest reporters in journalistic history, a major sleazebag, has been relegated by CNN Fake News to the Midnight hour, “Death Valley,” because of extraordinarily BAD RATINGS (and no talent!)"

The president added, "Word is that he wants to QUIT, and that would be even better. Jim is a major loser who will fail no matter where he ends up. Good luck Jim!"

Notably, President Trump confirmed on Thursday, January 30 that there were no survivors after the crash between an American Airlines plane and an Army helicopter. Officials said that the search-and-rescue operation became a recovery mission in the early morning hours, per the New York Post.
