WASHINGTON, DC: During his recent opening monologue on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', Jimmy Kimmel aimed to lampoon Donald Trump’s notorious verbal blunders but ended up experiencing a moment of irony himself.

The late-night host played a clip where Robert F Kennedy Jr said the United States needed a president who could "put together an English sentence". According to OK Magazine, Kimmel then played a compilation of Trump's notable verbal mishaps.

"The only sentence Donald Trump can put together is a prison sentence," he joked, a quip intended to highlight the former president's frequent linguistic missteps. Kimmel also discussed about Lara Trump, 41, and Tiffany Trump, 30, who recently were targeted by crypto scammers.

Jimmy Kimmel's slip-up while addressing crypto scams

Earlier this week, Lara and Tiffany Trump made dubious posts on X endorsing a new venture with World Liberty Financial.

Eric Trump, 40, quickly alerted the public to the scam. "This is a scam!! @LaraLeaTrump and @TiffanyATrump's Twitter profiles have been compromised!!" he warned.

Jimmy Kimmel advised viewers to be cautious of hackers.

"They want you to know, do not be fooled by hackers!" he said, but then stumbled over his own words. "The only official sancted-shened crypto scams — now I’m like him," Kimmel joked, poking fun at his own slip-up while highlighting Trump's verbal gaffes.

"You know what? That’s karma. That’s why I’m not gonna be president!"

Donald Trump's gaffes and controversial claims amid 2024 election race

Donald Trump's frequent gaffes, including his memorable "negative press covfefe" tweet from May 2017 and his slurred speech at campaign rallies, are often highlighted by his critics.

Recently, some X users criticized the 78-year-old Trump as "too old" to run for president in 2024 after he mistakenly referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as "president".

Trump has also faced backlash for claiming there were "no problems" during his presidency. In a September 4 campaign video shared on Truth Social, he stated, "The world was safe... There were no terrorist attacks under Trump. Russia wasn't taking land under Trump. Israel would have never been attacked under Trump."

He continued, "Think of it...all of the difference we'd have," reflecting on the changes he believes he could have made if reelected in 2020.

"No inflation, no wars, it’d be a much different world right now, a much better world. But that's not the way it is."
