'This is a scam': Eric Trump panics as Lara and Tiffany's X accounts are hacked to promote crypto fraud
WASHINGTON, DC: Eric Trump has claimed that the X accounts of his wife Lara Trump and younger sister Tiffany Trump had been hacked after they announced a new crypto venture.
Lara posted about World Liberty Financial -- a crypto policy platform -- on Tuesday, September 3.
She wrote in a now-deleted tweet, “I'm excited to finally be able to speak on World Liberty Financial, the project I have been working on alongside my husband @EricTrump.”

Lara Trump claimed crypto venture was for people ‘to control their finances’
“I would first like to discuss what we are trying to build. Our goal at World Liberty is to utilize our governance token on Solana, $WL, to support our DeFi lending protocol,” she noted, as per Raw Story.
The former television producer went on to explain, “This is to ensure the American people are in full control of their finances, with no single point of failure. We want to take power away from the centralized banks, and give it back to the people.”
“We want the people to have better lending and borrowing rates. We want the average person to thrive on taking charge of their own finances,” she added.
The Republican National Committee co-chair also shared multiple links, claiming it to be the "only official channels for World Liberty ($WL)," before asserting, "Be safe and be aware."
Following in her footsteps, Tiffany also shared about it on her page.
She reportedly claimed in her now-deleted tweet, “I am officially endorsing the World Liberty Financial project.”
The youngest daughter of Donald Trump even added a link to the website, which was created earlier on Tuesday.
However, its registration was linked to an anonymous domain hosting platform called Njalla Okta LLC, as reported by NBC News.
It has been said that Njalla Okta was built by the co-founder of The Pirate Bay, a dark-web marketplace.
Eric Trump says Lara’s post was ‘scam’
But soon her brother and Lara’s husband Eric issued a statement via his X account.
“This is a scam!!” he declared, before noting that his wife and sister’s X accounts had been “compromised”.
The 40-year-old businessman in another tweet shared, “@twitter was amazing and has locked down @LaraLeaTrump and @TiffanyATrump accounts within minutes.”

But the damage was already done as the alleged fake posts reportedly affected the price of Solana, a blockchain platform, mentioned in Lara's tweet.
Netizens ask how Lara and Tiffany ‘hacked at the same time’
Eric’s first tweet even got deleted after some time.
But users on X were quick to notice the lost tweets as one commented, “When your family's grift game is so strong, people can't tell if you've been hacked or just launched a new scam.”

If the Trump family can’t even protect their own Twitter accounts, how can we expect them to protect the nation?

Maybe if that family didn’t have a long history of grifts, scams, & selling oodles of cheap crap to line their pockets people wouldn’t be so quick to believe this was legit.

Latest stumble in Trump family's effort to launch crypto platform
The incident is the latest stumble in the Trump family’s effort to launch a crypto platform.
Multiple digital tokens apparaently backed by the Trump team or members of the Trump family have launched.
One was dubbed DJT, the same call letters as Trump Media Technology Group’s ticker symbol on the Nasdaq exchange. The coin pulled in hundreds of millions of dollars before the founders pulled the funds in early August, sending the coin plummeting in value.
The Trump presidential campaign and the Trump Organization is yet to comment about the reported hacks, or the status of the Trump crypto venture.
