Lara Trump calls Harris ‘phony’ for DNC speech, contrasts with Trump’s comeback after shooting attempt
WASHINGTON, DC: Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump mocked Kamala Harris over her “phony” DNC appearance while boosting Donald Trump’s assassination attempt.
Commenting on Harris who reportedly made a brief address during the first night of the Democratic National Convention on Monday, August 19, Lara said, “We have to tell the American people exactly who Kamala Harris is, and look, she just came out on stage there in front of the nation at the DNC, her first appearance, and told you absolutely nothing.”
Lara Trump claims Donald Trump is ‘there for all major speeches’
“What I think people have at least learned thus far, if they don't know yet Kamala Harris' radical positions, Tim Walz's radical positions, they know that this party and these candidates, Sean, are very phony,” Lara Trump asserted, as reported by Raw Story.
The former television producer then went on to mention the assassination attempt that was made against her father-in-law on July 13 near Butler, Pennsylvania.
She shared, “Look at Donald Trump. Two days before our convention, he's shot in the head. He shows up at our convention. He's there every single day. He's there for all the major speeches.”
Lara Trump deems Democrats ‘completely phony’
Lara Trump then compared the Republican party and Donald Trump with the Democrats.
“On the other side of things, you have a completely phony party and completely phony candidates in Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. If you put this person in the White House alongside her running mate, it will be like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on steroids,” she asserted.
“But the fact that we were there and we just heard for, I guess it was two minutes from Kamala with absolutely no substance, nothing on policy,” Lara added.
Kamala Harris thanks Joe Biden
Lara Trump's attack coincided with Kamala Harris addressing the crowd at the DNC on Monday night, as per The Guardian, “This is going to be a great week, and I want to kick us off by celebrating our incredible President Joe Biden, who will be speaking later tonight.”
The Democratic presidential nominee continued, “Joe, thank you for your historic leadership, for your lifetime of service to our nation, and for all you will continue to do, we are forever grateful to you. Thank you, Joe!”
“Looking out at everyone tonight, I see the beauty of our great nation. People from every corner of our country and every walk of life are here united by our shared vision for the future of our country, and this November, we will come together and declare with one voice, as one people, we are moving forward,” she added.
