Biden takes subtle dig at Trump with hand gesture as he exits stage after first speech since leaving WH

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Former President Joe Biden seemed to take a subtle jab at President Donald Trump with a hand gesture while exiting the stage in Chicago on Tuesday, April 15, following his first public speech since leaving the White House.
The ex-president has mostly stayed silent since leaving office in January, while Trump’s attacks on Biden for allegedly causing the nation’s problems have continued, according to Irish Star.
Joe Biden takes subtle dig at Donald Trump with hand gesture
When Joe Biden was about to exit the stage after completing his speech, the former president seemed to use a finger-pointing gesture, which is usually Donald Trump's signature move during speeches, according to the outlet.

Notably, Trump frequently uses hand movements during rallies and speeches, as well as when he refers to his opponents and wants to target them.
Interestingly, Trump had earlier mocked Biden for his age or for stumbling while getting off the stage. Biden reportedly made the pointed gesture before confidently leaving the stage in an attempted signal to Trump.
During his speech, Biden took jibes at the Trump administration for having "taken a hatchet" to Social Security amid sweeping federal cuts, led by "First Buddy" Elon Musk and his team at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Biden said during his speech, "In fewer than 100 days, this new administration has done so much damage and so much destruction. It’s kind of breathtaking. They’ve taken a hatchet to the Social Security Administration."

Notably, the Trump administration has taken steps to reduce SSA workers by laying off 7000 and cracking down on identity-proofing measures for the recipients, per the outlet.
Moreover, the SSA has also been sued for its decision to allow the tech billionaire and DOGE access to Social Security numbers and other personally identifiable information.
Interestingly, before Biden left office, he signed the Social Security Fairness Act to boost payouts to retirees by nearly $360 per month.

Joe Biden refers to Black children as 'colored' during his speech
Joe Biden referred to Black children as "colored" during his speech on Tuesday while he explained what motivated him to get into politics.
The former president used the outdated term while telling an anecdote about his childhood move from Scranton to Wilmington, where he noted that before his family relocated, he had "never seen hardly any Black people".

He said during the speech, "I was only going in fourth grade and I remember seeing children going by, at the time called "colored children", on a bus go by, they never turned right to go to Claymont High School."
He added that learning about Black children not being allowed to attend public school with White students "sparked my sense of outrage as a kid", according to the New York Post.

Interestingly, Biden didn’t refer to Trump by name during his roughly 30-minute speech.
