WASHINGTON, DC: Former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy has voiced major concerns regarding President Joe Biden's cognitive abilities, citing several personal experiences and interactions with Biden that have led him to question President's mental state.

McCarthy's comments were detailed in a recent interview with CNN's Manu Raju on Thursday, July 18, where he recounted various instances that demonstrate Biden's cognitive decline.

What did Kevin McCarthy say about Joe Biden?

McCarthy claims to have observed signs of Biden's deteriorating mental state long before his presidency. Reflecting on his interactions with Biden when he was Vice President, McCarthy stated, "I used to meet with him when he was vice president. I’d go to his house. He’s not the same person."

One of the key anecdotes McCarthy shared involved a bizarre tour Biden allegedly took him on, which he referred to as a "wild tour."

McCarthy recounted an incident during a winter meeting at the White House: “I saw a real decline early on, and with each meeting I would have with him, it’s almost like I saw a different Joe Biden. I remember one time being down there where I didn’t think he quite know what was transpiring and he took us on a wild tour down to the swimming pool that made no sense in wintertime. And I remember Jill being on the other side of the table saying, ‘No, no, they don’t want to go outside'.”

According to McCarthy, these experiences contributed to his growing concern about Biden's cognitive capabilities. A significant point McCarthy stressed was Biden's dependence on note cards during meetings and negotiations.

“So when he became president and I was minority leader, he kind of shut us out from even communication and I thought that was odd. But then when we won the majority and I went down before our speaker, I soon learned the reason why,” McCarthy told Raju, noting Biden’s inability to negotiate without written cues.

"He has to speak from cards, and when he speaks from cards and you want to debate what he said from the card to negotiate, he can’t go there," McCarthy explained. "He shuts up the conversation."

McCarthy also shared a peculiar incident where Biden was showing him his private room in the White House, The Wrap reported.

"Then he took us into, he’s created this little office, just outside, just down from the Oval Office, that’s his little private office," McCarthy recounted. "He walked us into — and there’s only a few people can fit in it; Trump had it as a gift shop-type thing. In there, he has a valet with a blue dress shirt all wrinkled sitting there. I’m thinking, ‘Why is he taking his shirt off in here?’ It just, every time I walked out actually depressed as an American. I didn’t tell anybody about that story because he was going off to a G7 meeting.”

In response to questions about why he did not address these concerns earlier, McCarthy stated, "This was before I was even speaker, so I’m thinking, I didn’t have new interactions. I have started being public, as you saw, probably the first one out, and I was criticized many times about it."

He highlighted his strategy during negotiations with Biden, noting, "What I learned is, when he would meet with me, he would always talk from a card. And I learned from a negotiation tactic to disrupt him and he couldn’t carry on."

Joe Biden trolled following Kevin McCarthy's claims about his mental state

Joe Biden was trolled in the Yahoo! News comments section following McCarthy's stunning revelations.

"Sounds about right," one posted.

"We all saw it. This is what happens when you put party and agenda before the nation," another wrote.

"Face it….. we all are aware that Biden is past his 'use by' date!" someone else remarked.

"He’s had it many years. He has had Brain surgery. He can’t hide in the basement no more," read a comment.

"Scary part is; who has been running the country for the last 4 years? We all see it couldn't have been Biden, so who has been actually calling the shots behind his handlers??" another wondered.

The concerns over Biden's cognitive abilities are not new. Former President Donald Trump famously dubbed him "Sleepy Joe," a nickname that has now evolved into a broader movement questioning Biden's fitness for office.

Speculation about Biden being replaced by a stronger Democratic candidate gained momentum following his perceived poor performance in the first presidential debate of the election season on June 27. This has led to some of Biden's long-time supporters and fellow Democrats reconsidering their stance.

The second debate between Biden and Trump is scheduled for September 10 with ABC News.
