Joe Rogan calls Minneapolis protests 'paid' distractions from 'millions of dollars of fraud'

AUSTIN, TEXAS: Podcast host Joe Rogan recently commented on protests taking place in Minneapolis. During an episode of 'The Joe Rogan Experience,' he argued that the demonstrations were not 'organic.'
Rogan suggested the protests were a coordinated effort designed to divert public attention, claiming they occurred in the same locations where authorities had uncovered significant fraud involving hundreds of millions of dollars.
Joe Rogan shares his thoughts on Minneapolis protests
During the podcast, Rogan described the anti-ICE demonstrations as “one of the clearest, most obvious distractions you’ve ever seen.” He argued that the protests "were not organic" and claimed their timing and location were suspicious because they were taking place where “hundreds of millions of dollars of fraud” had reportedly been discovered.
Rogan stated that the protests were "organized and paid for" rather than arising spontaneously. According to him, people were being paid to participate in demonstrations and were provided with "protest signs as part of coordinated efforts.
He also alleged that organizers were using encrypted messaging platforms, claiming they had “Signal groups” to help coordinate activities.
The podcaster further alleged that protesters were targeting officials connected to immigration enforcement. Rogan said individuals involved in the protests were “doxing” workers from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) by finding "out what their license plates numbers are, and where they're staying."
He also claimed local police were instructed to “stand down” during these incidents. According to Rogan, these developments represented a "convergence of several factors that could produce chaos."
Joe Rogan links protests to broader debate over immigration enforcement
Rogan continued to discuss what he characterized as a broader political dynamic surrounding immigration enforcement. The podcaster referenced comments he attributed to former Vice President Mike Pence, describing the situation as “a mathematical thing” in which certain types of incidents become more likely as tensions escalate.
He suggested that a combination of "organized demonstrations, untrained ICE agents, and volatile situations could lead a lot of chaos." Rogan argued that if violence occurs during such events, it could shift public opinion and influence debates about deportation policies.
According to him, this outcome could affect how people view whether ICE should deport all undocumented immigrants or focus primarily on individuals accused of violent crimes.
The podcaster also criticized what he described as “weird narratives” about immigration enforcement statistics. Rogan referred to claims that only a small portion of those arrested were violent criminals and questioned how the term “violent criminal” was being defined.
He said that, in his view, more than 60% of those involved were criminals and asked whether non-violent crimes should also be considered serious in immigration enforcement discussions.
Rogan concluded his remarks by questioning whether focusing solely on violent offenders adequately addressed broader concerns about criminal activity among undocumented immigrants. He also asked whether it was acceptable if individuals were “just coming here to rip people off.”
