HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA: Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman went on a rant after Democrats lost to Republican candidate Dave McCormick in his home state.

Among his several tweets, the lawmaker slammed voters of the Green Party for helping GOP, “Pennsylvania is going to count every last vote. That’s not controversial—that’s the law. Also, Green dip**ts’ votes helping elect the GOP.”

Senator John Fetterman's reference was to Leila Hazou, the Green Party's candidate for the Senate seat, who garnered 64,088 votes, as he shared the screenshot of the official figure with his post, reported Daily Mail.

"We still have tens of thousands of votes to be counted across the Commonwealth. [The Associated Press] shouldn't make a call in this race until every Pennsylvanian has their vote counted,” he remarked in another tweet.

X owner Elon Musk also reacted to Fetterman’s controversial remark, “Calling Green voters 'dips***s' is not a great way to win them over.”

Earlier, McCormick said Democrats Bob Casey won't be winning the election this time, "He's been in elected office for 30 years. His family's had a great history of public service, and so you know he's going to have to find his way to the right answer."

"But I think the math is indisputable, and I think that's why the AP called it and why we're confident moving forward to start preparing to be the next senator from Pennsylvania," he explained.

Netizens react to John Fetterman's controversial remark about Green Party voters

Internet strongly reacted to John Fetterman's comment regarding constituents of his home state Pennsylvania for choosing to vote for the Green Party candidate in the 2024 presidential election.

One person reminded Fetterman over X, "Those are your constituents you’re denigrating."

"I think Green Party voters are going to remember you calling them names when you’re running for re-election. Probably not the smartest choice. We’ll be sure to remind them," another poined.

An individual wrote, "You just glossed over the libertarians getting more votes than the greens."

Another said, "Tfw you spent your whole campaign trying to alienate people and then you did. Congrats John."

"Are you really berating people for who they voted for?" remarked another individual.
