WASHINGTON, DC: Pennsylvania’s straight-shooting Sen John Fetterman didn’t hold back on Fox News Wednesday night, October 22, as he ripped into former Vice President Kamala Harris.

The Democrat told Sean Hannity he’s fed up with his party painting Republicans as racists, Nazis, or fascists, especially President Donald Trump and his supporters.

John Fetterman defends Trump voters

When Harris dropped the “fascist” accusation during the 2024 election cycle, Fetterman said that’s when he knew things had officially gone off the rails.

“I don’t know why, and I have always refused to say that,” Fetterman said when Hannity asked why Democrats keep comparing Trump to Hitler.

“When Vice President Harris referred to President Trump as a ‘fascist,’ I knew absolutely we lost the plot at that point. If you call the president or someone a fascist, you are effectively calling the people who are going to vote for him [the same thing], and then they must be fascist too… or they support fascism and those things. And that is just not true.”

Fetterman made it clear he’s not buying into the narrative.

He told Hannity, “I happen to know and love a lot of people that voted for the president, and they are not fascist, they are not Nazis, they’re not trying to destroy the constitution and all those things. They just happen to have different priorities, and they love our country in the same ways that Democrats do as well.”

He warned that demonizing entire groups of voters only makes things worse.

“Extreme kinds of rhetoric make it easier for those extreme kinds of actions,” he said, referencing the murder of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk. “I refuse to be a part of it and comparing people to Hitler and those things. If that’s what’s required to win, then I refuse to.”

Fetterman doubled down on that point. “I refuse to call my fellow citizens fascists or Nazis or those things. If somebody wants to primary me or the party wants to vote me out, I’m going to go down being honest and telling you that this is wrong," he added.

Kamala Harris’ 'fascist' comment about Trump

Harris had no hesitation when she made the accusation during the 2024 campaign trail. During a CNN town hall with Anderson Cooper, she was asked if she believed Trump was a fascist.

“Yes, I do. Yes, I do,” she said without skipping a beat. In fact, she doubled down that same night, declaring Trump “admires dictators” and “is a fascist.”

She hasn’t exactly toned it down since leaving office. Recently, the former VP has resorted to profanity-laced tirades at book tour events. “These mothaf**kas are crazy!” she recently yelled when slamming the Trump administration.

But Fetterman’s critique of Harris’s comments came just a day after another Democrat, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, compared Trump’s rumored plan to use ICE to deport illegal immigrants to “the start of the Holocaust in Germany.”

John Fetterman breaks ranks with Democrats

Fetterman didn’t stop at calling out Harris. He also blasted his own party’s stance on Israel and the ongoing government shutdown.

He accused Democrats of betraying Israel amid the war in Gaza, saying he was "the last Democrat to stand with Israel.”

On the shutdown (now stretching into its fourth week), Fetterman told Hannity he’s ready to break with his party if that’s what it takes to reopen the government. “I am always going to vote country over my party and if I pay a price within my base, that’s something I am willing to do,” he said.

The Pennsylvania senator has been one of the few Democrats pushing to fund the military and Capitol Police. “I’m not afraid to tell my truth and if I’m going to pay a penalty, I’m not afraid of that,” Fetterman told Hannity. “It’s wrong to shut our government down.”
