BYRON, MICHIGAN: John Oliver left no stone unturned as he playfully roasted Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance's critique of Kamala Harris' lively rally performances with a dose of comedy gold on 'Last Week Tonight'.

The host kicked off by urging Vance to "stop scolding people for enjoying stuff," delivering a sharp rebuke to the politician's grim efforts to sour the excitement surrounding Democratic presidential frontrunner Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign rallies, comparing him to a buzzkill dad at SeaWorld.

“The Trump campaign continued trying to counter enthusiasm for the Democrats’ new ticket,” Oliver said, describing JD Vance as “a man who virtually looks like he got stuck 10 percent of the way to transforming into a werewolf — desperately trying to spin the joy of Harris’ recent rallies as a negative.”

The host began by showing a C-SPAN clip of Donald Trump's running mate JD Vance recently criticizing Kamala Harris in a speech in Byron Center, Michigan, accusing her of celebrating while the country suffered. “She says she’s having fun, but while she’s having fun, Americans are suffering under her policies,” Vance declared, per Hollywood Reporter.

“When she laughs during a speech, remember that there are American families crying this very day because they cannot afford groceries. When she does these rallies and does these fake dances, remember that there are parents who lost their children to drugs or violence who will never see their children move again, much less dance again.”

But Oliver wasn’t having it. He ripped into Vance’s downbeat tone, mocking him for turning every joyful moment into a funeral dirge. “What are you doing?” Oliver questioned. “Scolding people for enjoying stuff because there are sadder things happening elsewhere is a sh***y thing to do, although it does make me curious what Vance is like in other social situations.”

John Oliver imagines JD Vance as a buzzkill dad at SeaWorld

Further, John Oliver painted a comedic picture of JD Vance taking his kids to SeaWorld, imagining him saying: “All right, kids enjoy SeaWorld. Meet us back here at 2, and remember, dolphins will sometimes kill porpoises for sport. Have fun! Scientists call it porpicide, by the way.”

His sharp critique didn’t stop there. He took a moment to roast himself, joking that “For what it’s worth, bumming everyone out with depressing facts about things you like isn’t how you become vice president; it’s how you put people to sleep once a week while aging like a wartime president." He wrapped up the segment by displaying a photo of himself, with a firm command for Vance to "get the f**k off my corner."
