WASHINGTON, DC: MSNBC host Joy Reid said in a TikTok video uploaded on Saturday, November 9 that Black women were no longer interested in saving the country, democracy, or the Democratic Party after they were betrayed in the 2024 presidential election by White female voters.

According to Fox News, President-elect Donald Trump performed better than expected among the latter demographic, earning roughly 52% of their votes. In comparison, Democratic nominee Kamala Harris was backed by 46% despite her campaign focusing on reproductive rights.

Joy Reid called out White progressive women on social media and asked them to refrain from seeking the support of their Black friends if they were planning to protest against Trump's victory.

"I just want to give some free advice to the White progressive women who may be thinking about marching against the Trump victory, maybe putting back on the P-word hats and doing that thing, I would just say probably don't send any of those invites to any Black women. I'm just going to tell you right now they're not coming," she stated.

"Like, I'm pretty sure Black women have resigned from the ‘Save America’ coalition,' ‘Save Democracy’ coalition, and definitely the ‘Save the Democratic Party’ coalition,"

"I would just keep those invites maybe among your own friends," Reid continued, before adding, "Because ... I think Black women are now (focused) on the ‘save Black women, prioritize Black men and prioritize Black communities, Black businesses, and the Black spaces.' But save America, save the Democratic Party? Yeah, I don't think that's happening."

"Black voters came through for Kamala Harris, White women voters did not," she had stated on an MSNBC panel discussing election results.
