Justin Timberlake banking on NSYNC reunion tour to revive his career after DWI controversy, claims source
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Justin Timberlake’s DWI arrest and the subsequent dropping out of his latest album from the Billboard 200 has the crooner asking his NSYNC band members for a reunion tour to save his career.
The 43-year-old ‘Sexy Back’ singer was arrested on June 18 in a drunk driving case. Though he claimed to have just “one martini” during a night out with his friends at the Hamptons, the authorities said he appeared "glassy-eyed" and refused to take a breathalyzer test thrice.
While he was released the following morning, the singer was left distraught about the fate of his career. Now a source close to him is saying that the 43-year-old star is urging his NSYNC bandmates - JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone and Lance Bass - to join him in an attempt to to revitalize his career.
Justin Timberlake urges NSYNC band members to reconnect
Recently, a source close to the ‘Friends With Benefits’ star claimed that the singer was left thinking about his career after his album ‘Everything I Thought It Was’ dropped off the charts.
Moreover, it has also been claimed that even revenue generated from ticket sales of his tour has gone down abysmally, with some tickets selling for just $1.
An insider recently shared to RadarOnline that, "Justin is terrified his career may be finished," before adding, "He's convinced his only hope to bounce all the way back is another tour with the boys."
"Every NSYNC album was a No.1 hit, and their tours sold out arenas across the globe," added the source.
The tipster shared, "Justin knows the audience is still out there, so he's begging the guys to do this favor for him."
Evidently, there are many takers for the band’s music yet. Last year, the band released their new song ‘Better Place’ for the animated film ‘Trolls Band Together’ which delighted many and became an instant hit.
The band’s return is also long overdue as their fans are patiently waiting for their reunion for the last ten years.
In March, the NSYNC members reunited briefly for the first time in a decade when they performed at Timberlake's One Night Only Concert at The Wiltern in Los Angeles.
However, the insider revealed that while the other members are not too keen to reunite for the sake of pulling out Timberlake’s career, they are considering the economic profits they could generate.
"It's a hard sell," said the source, before adding, "That said, they also know the kind of money a tour could generate, so they're seriously considering it."
Previously, an insider opened up about the predicament Timberlake found himself in after his album dropped out of the list top 200 list.
Claiming that the ‘In Time’ singer was “crushed” at the aftermath, the source added, "The album didn't do too well, and I don't see Justin getting big acting roles right now.”
They noted, "He's got a bit of an ego,” before adding, his "golden boy image is definitely depleted."
Justin Timberlake anxious about his career
It is not only the insiders who have expressed concerns over the 'Trolls' actor's career but Timberlake himself has been left anxious.
He was arrested after his night out “with a bunch of friends", when the cops “pulled out and they pulled him over for a traffic violation" after he failed to maintain lanes.
One of the insider shared with Page Six, “His friends were telling the police, ‘Let him go, let him go.'”
However, a police officer was so young that he didn't even recognize Timberlake.
The insider shared, “He didn’t recognize him or his name."
Another insider shared that when he was arrested, the 10-time Grammy-winner "said under his breath, ‘This is going to ruin the tour.’ The cop replied, ‘What tour?’ Justin said, ‘The world tour.'”
