Justin Timberlake's exchange with cop who didn't recognize him during DWI arrest leaves Internet in splits

SAG HARBOR, NEW YORK: Justin Timberlake was not only arrested on Tuesday for drunk driving but also allegedly experienced some embarrassing moments with the cop who arrested him. 

The 43-year-old actor was arrested in the wee hours of Tuesday after he violated traffic rules after allegedly taking 'one martini'. While he refused to take a breathalyzer test when the police pulled him over, he did take a field sobriety test. 

However, it is the ‘SexyBack’ singer’s interaction with a cop that is garnering immense traction on the internet.

The ‘Friends With Benefits’ actor was at the American Hotel on Monday night “with a bunch of friends.” Some insiders shared with Page Six that “there were cops stationed outside where he was having dinner.”

They shared that after the 10-time Grammy winner left the place and drove his grey 2025 BMW, the cops “pulled out and they pulled him over for a traffic violation.”

One source shared, “His friends were telling the police, ‘Let him go, let him go.'” The insider further added that one of the cops was so young that he didn’t even realize who Timberlake was. 

“He didn’t recognize him or his name,” shared one of the insiders. The second insider added, “Justin said under his breath, ‘This is going to ruin the tour.’ The cop replied, ‘What tour?’ Justin said, ‘The world tour.'”

The singer is currently on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour and has his Friday and Saturday booked for two concerts at the United Center in Chicago.

Shortly after the incident, the ‘Social Network’ star was taken into custody and charged with one count of driving while intoxicated and two other traffic violations: not stopping at a stop sign and failure to stay in a proper lane of travel, per Page Six. 

The second source also added, “He was a gentleman,” noting, “He didn’t show any entitlement at all. He did refuse the tests, but that is his right.”

The multifaceted star, represented by prominent Hamptons lawyer Eddie Burke Jr, was arraigned and released on his own recognizance on Tuesday morning. 

His license, nevertheless, has been suspended in the state of New York.
