LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Former Vice President Kamala Harris said that the Biden administration did not release the files related to Jeffrey Epstein because they wanted the Department of Justice to function as an "absolute separate" organization.

Her revelation came during her recent appearance on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' on Wednesday, December 17, during which Harris addressed the upcoming release of the Epstein Files, set to take place on Friday.

Kamala Harris claims Biden kept White House and DOJ separate

During her conversation with Jimmy Kimmel, Kamala Harris was asked about why the Biden administration didn’t push for the disclosure of the Epstein Files while in office.

She revealed that the separation between the administration and the Department of Justice was intentional.

The former vice president added that the Biden administration believed that there should be an “absolute separation” between what they wanted as an administration and what the DOJ did.

“We absolutely adhered to that and it was right to do that,” she added.

The former Vice President further stated that during Joe Biden’s term, the Justice Department made its decisions “independent of any political” pressure and said that was the way it worked.

Kamala Harris was one of the people who demanded action from Donald Trump hours before the president signed the order, demanding the release of the files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Also, on 'The Bulwark' podcast, Harris criticized Trump for not taking action and urged him to “release the files.”

She further accused him of taking “unilateral action” without thinking about the “three coequal branches” of government on “almost everything he has done,” and questioned why he was waiting for Congress’s “green light.”

Kamala Harris accuses Trump of DOJ misuse

Jimmy Kimmel asked Kamala Harris on the latest episode of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, if she believed the nation would see the “entirety” of the Epstein materials. The former vice president then chimed in on Trump’s closeness with the Department of Justice.

She stated that treating the Department of Justice as his “personal law firm” was “criminal.” Harris added that the DOJ was supposed to be an “independent” entity and was supposed to be “blindfolded” in terms of who it served.

“They’re supposed to operate without favor or fear,” she added.

Kamala Harris added that she didn’t know what the DOJ would do but hoped that they would release “all of the documents” that the American people had the right to see. She further praised the Republicans in Congress who pushed for the disclosure of the Epstein Files.
