LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jimmy Kimmel, the host of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, addressed Donald Trump’s recent remarks about the deaths of Rob and Michele Reiner on Monday, December 15.

The talk show host criticized the president’s post, calling his statements “vile and hateful."

In a Truth Social post on Monday, the president had written that the actor had passed away, "reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS."

Jimmy Kimmel thought Trump’s post on Rob Reiner 'was fake'

While on his late-night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel discussed Donald Trump’s remarks during his opening monologue. He said that the kind of weekend that had passed made people wonder if “things will ever feel good again.”

Kimmel mentioned some of the horrific things that took place over the weekend. He talked about the shooting at Brown University, the shooting at Bondi Beach in Australia and the murder of one of Hollywood’s “greatest directors and patriots,” Rob and Michele Reiner.

He added that at a time such as this, people needed “compassion and leadership.” However, he claimed that America did not get that from the president because he had “none.”

He added that they got a “fool rambling about nonsense.”

Jimmy Kimmel criticized Trump for stooping low and said that he rushed to “pin the tail on the donkey” in a pursuit of a Trump-friendly narrative. He added that the president blamed Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner’s death on Rob being an “outspoken liberal.”

“Insulting someone who’s just been murdered, who leaves children behind, without having any idea of what actually happened. It’s so hateful and vile,” Kimmel stated.

Kimmy confessed that when he first saw the post, he “thought it was fake,” because it seemed “too much” for the president as well, "but nothing is ever too much for him."

Jimmy Kimmel reacts to Trump doubling down on his criticism

Jimmy Kimmel played a clip of Donald Trump’s recent press conference at the White House, during which the president said that he wasn’t a fan of Rob Reiner. He further called him “very bad” for America.

Reacting to the same, Kimmel said, “That corroded brain is in charge of our lives.”

He told people that if they voted for Trump, it was okay to reconsider. He defended the late Hollywood director and said that he wanted to keep pointing out the “loathsome atrocities” that continued to “ooze out of this sick and irresponsible” man’s mouth.

“So we’re gonna do that over and over again until the rest of us wake up,” he stated.
