Kamala Harris dubbed 'Biden 2.0' for saying she wants to debate 'former VP' again in latest gaffe
WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President Kamala Harris seemed to follow her boss, President Joe Biden, on at least one thing: his infamous propensity for gaffes.
The Democratic presidential nominee had a recent slip of the tongue when she referred to former President Donald Trump as the "former vice president."
While speaking to reporters on a tarmac recently, Harris was asked about a second debate with Trump. In response, the current VP said she would "like another debate" with the "former vice president."
The gaffe shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the Trump campaign's handle prompted many to compare her blunder to Biden's numerous gaffes.
Kamala says she'd "like another debate" with the "former vice president."

Does she think she's running against Mike Pence? Dick Cheney? Dan Quayle? Has she covered up Biden's cognitive decline for so long that it has now rubbed off on her? pic.twitter.com/ZfO2vujDZT
Recently, the 81-year-old president added to his slip-ups while introducing the Quad nation leaders in Delaware. He appeared irked while snapping at his staff, "Who’s next?" before introducing Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
Kamala Harris' latest gaffe comes as she urges another debate against Trump
Harris and Trump came face to face for the first time on September 10 on the debate stage hosted by ABC News.
Unlike the real estate mogul's first presidential debate of the election year against Biden in June, he displayed a below-average performance and later accused the network and the hosts of being biased against him. Moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis fact-checked Trump's false claims, including a bizarre migrant pet-eating conspiracy theory in real-time.
Since the ABC News face-off, Harris called on Trump to agree to a second debate with her.
Last week, the ex-president declared he would not be part of a "third debate".
"KAMALA SHOULD FOCUS ON WHAT SHE SHOULD HAVE DONE DURING THE LAST ALMOST FOUR YEAR PERIOD. THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!" he wrote on Truth Social.
On September 21, Harris announced she accepted an invitation for a CNN debate scheduled for October 23 and said on X that she "hoped" Trump would join her.
I will gladly accept a second presidential debate on October 23.

I hope @realDonaldTrump will join me. https://t.co/Trb8HUBsDh
However, the GOP presidential nominee reiterated his opposition to another face-off during a rally in North Carolina the same day.
"She’s done one debate," Trump said, according to CNBC. "I've done two. It’s too late to do another. I’d love to, in many ways, but it’s too late. The voting is cast."
Internet trolls Kamala Harris' Biden-like gaffe
Harris' gaffe about wanting to debate the "former vice president" sparked mockery online as netizens compared her to Biden.
One user called her "Biden 2.0."
"Kamala Harris off of a teleprompter is scary stuff!" another said.
"Or is Kamala asking to debate herself? She would lose that too!" added a third user.
Or is Kamala asking to debate herself? She would lose that too!

"Maybe she’s been covering for Biden so long that she can't tell the difference anymore!" read a fourth response.
"When no prompter is set-up. lol," someone else wrote.
"Maybe what Biden has is contagious," a user quipped.
Maybe she’s been covering for Biden so long that she can't tell the difference anymore!

"Sounds like she’s as lost as the guy she’s trying to defend," an individual said.
"Dumber than a box of rock," read another remark.
"She’s empty upstairs just like Biden," a user chimed in.
Sounds like she’s as lost as the guy she’s trying to defend.
