What did Halifax County Sheriff's office report?
According to a news release from the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence in the 2000 block of Beaverdam Road around 10.30 pm on Tuesday, following a woman's report that her 10-year-old child was missing.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered that the girl had been located in the backyard of the house by her mother. Deputies at the scene observed that the child "appeared to be deceased".
The sheriff’s officer stated in the release, "Further investigation revealed that the child had been stabbed multiple times and was, in fact, deceased, through investigation by Investigators, it is believed that the victim had been stabbed inside the home and moved outside to the rear of the home.”
The sheriff’s office mentioned that the motive for the alleged attack "is unclear at this time," and the investigation is ongoing.
Bradley was out on bond during her younger sister's stabbing
At the time of the child attack, Bradley was on bond, having been arrested twice last year for two other alleged incidents involving weapons.
In the first incident, Bradley was accused of cutting her boyfriend with a box cutter during a domestic violence incident. The sheriff’s office reported that on April 22, 2023, deputies responded to a home on Christmas Road in Enfield, North Carolina, following a report of an assault and car theft.
The victim recounted that Bradley, identified as his girlfriend, had unexpectedly "pulled out a box cutter and cut him with it" while they were driving.
The assault caused a gash on the victim’s lip, leading him to pull over and exit the vehicle. Bradley, then 21 years old, was soon located by authorities, still in possession of the box cutter and the vehicle.
She had blood on her clothing from the incident and was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and larceny of a motor vehicle. Her court appearance for this incident is scheduled for January 29.
In August 2023, Bradley faced charges of assault with a deadly weapon against a law enforcement official, simple assault, and resisting an officer, as reported by local NBC affiliate WITN. Records indicate she is set to appear in court for the August charges on February 24.
