Karoline Leavitt calls midterms 'most important' in US history, urges voters to back Trump

WASHINGTON, DC: Former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made an ardent appeal to voters about the upcoming November midterm elections during her recent visit to Sean Hannity's show.

She sees the upcoming ballot as a defining moment for the country and is urging her supporters not to leave the campaign trail at this critical juncture. Leavitt believes that the forthcoming vote will be much more than just another routine set of Congressional elections.

Framing the election as a ‘crossroads’

"In 47 days, every single person watching your program and every single common-sense good, hardworking American across this country has a choice to make," Leavitt said. "And the 47th President of the United States needs you. And again, every common-sense American across the country tonight to get out and vote. Because these are indeed the most important midterm elections in the history of our country."

She added that the next few months will decide whether the United States will continue to be the beacon of hope and freedom that it claims to be or not. 

"America truly is at a crossroads. Do we want to continue to be a country that embraces common sense under President Trump and Republicans, like secure borders, like supporting our police, and like the largest middle-class tax cuts in American history, which put thousands of dollars back into the pockets of hardworking Americans, or do we not want to be a country that no longer recognizes itself?" she said. "Because that's what the Democrats want to do. They want to fundamentally change America. They want to destroy America."

Leavitt claimed that the country is at a crossroads and that the upcoming election is a choice between “the American dream” or “the al-Qaeda lifestyle.”

She also talked about political commentator and streamer Hasan Piker, who was widely criticized for comparing American ideals to the terrorist group’s ideology. 

Leavitt suggested that Piker and his ilk are “defining what it means to be a Democrat.”

"Just listen to the words of Hasan Piker, as you played them," Leavitt said, "Which is a Democrat... wanted to be spokesperson, who compared America to Al Qaeda. That is a horrific statement to make. But it is at the core central belief of the modern-day radical extreme liberal Democrat Party."

Leavitt concluded her comments by appealing to voters who might be turned off by some aspects of Trump's record, telling them to look beyond failures and focus on what the administration has accomplished.

"Don't let the, the perfect be the enemy of the good," she said. "President Trump has done so much good for our country, for our people, over the past two years. Again, the largest middle class tax cuts in history, the most secure border in history. He is deporting violent, illegal alien criminals from our streets and our communities. Every single day. Fentanyl deaths are down thanks to this president's strong law and order policies."

Leavitt's comments fit into a larger Republican campaign to get out the vote as the party faces a potential enthusiasm gap against Democrats heading into the key midterms.

With Republicans struggling to match the turnout of Democrats, who have surged in recent special elections and primaries, GOP strategists are pushing voters to come out and vote.

She is the latest GOP boss to make a pitch to voters as both parties prepare for a likely tight election, based on recent polls.
