WASHINGTON, DC: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt faced a fresh wave of online backlash this week after her fiery press briefing on Monday, June 30, drew attention, not for its policy content, but for her combative tone and dramatic delivery.

Critics accused the 26-year-old spokesperson for President Donald Trump of “yelling” and “whining,” with some even drawing unfavorable comparisons to her predecessor under President Joe Biden, Karine Jean-Pierre.

On Monday, July 1, the press briefing focused on President Donald Trump’s controversial economic proposal, dubbed the “big, beautiful bill,” which is set for a Senate vote ahead of the July 4 deadline.

However, Leavitt drew attention for an entirely different reason when she held up a printed memo, reportedly written by Trump in Sharpie and addressed to Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, according to Irish Star.

“‘Jerome, you are, as usual, too late,’” she read aloud. “‘You have cost the USA a fortune and continue to do so. You should lower the rate by a lot! Hundreds of billions of dollars are being lost. No inflation.’”

The moment triggered swift online reactions, with many accusing Leavitt of turning the briefing into a “show-and-tell” and prioritizing theatrics over substance.

Karoline Leavitt mocked for yelling during briefing as critics compare her to Karine Jean-Pierre

One user wrote, “Watching KJP and @PressSec is like night and day. KJP may have been 'incompetent' and the 'worst press sec ever,' but #KarolineLeavitt takes the cake. She whines and cries nonstop. She's soooooo insufferable!!!!”

Another suggested, “@karolineleavitt is trying too hard! She doesn't need to raise her voice/yell at the podium. Her props for show and tell do not help her cause.”

One user wrote, “Karoline is wearing her big-ass cross, so she's allowed to yell at the top of her lungs.”

And another summed up, “I mean it goes without saying that the press secretary for the Trump admin is going to be a horrible person lol, that isn’t shocking. I think the post was more about their abilities as Press Sec and how they navigate the press pool.”

One commented, “KJP wasn't known for being truthful, but so far, Leavitt is averaging 9 lies for every truth.”
