WASHINGTON, DC: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt hailed President Donald Trump's State of the Union address as a resounding success.

Taking to X shortly after Trump's speech to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, February 24, Leavitt declared that he "absolutely knocked it out of the park tonight."

"I am so proud to work for him, and so proud to be an American!" she added.

Trump's marathon address

Trump delivered the longest State of the Union speech on record, clocking in at just under 1 hour and 40 minutes.

“Members of Congress and my fellow Americans, our nation is back: Bigger, better, richer, and stronger than ever before," he declared. “Tonight, after just one year, I can say with dignity and pride that we have achieved a transformation like no one has ever seen before, and a turnaround for the ages.”

Trump was also bullish on the economy.

"The roaring economy is roaring like never before," he told the assembled lawmakers. "Moving forward, factories, jobs, investment, and trillions of dollars will continue pouring into the United States of America."

On Iran and the Democrats

The president also commented on foreign policy issues, particularly Iran.

“My preference is to solve this problem through diplomacy, but one thing is certain — I will never allow the world’s number one sponsor of terror to have a nuclear weapon," he said.

He also warned, “They were warned to make no future attempts to rebuild their weapons program, in particular, nuclear weapons. Yet they continue starting it all over. We wiped it out, and they want to start all over again – and are, at this moment again, pursuing their sinister ambitions. We are in negotiations with them. They want to make a deal, but we haven’t heard those secret words: ‘We will never have a nuclear weapon,’” he added.

Trump also blamed Democrats for various issues, such as voter fraud. “They want to cheat. They have cheated, and their policy is so bad that the only way they can get elected is to cheat," the president alleged.
