WASHINGTON, DC: Karoline Leavitt recently answered the burning question regarding her employment as the youngest press secretary of the White House.

Earlier this year, Leavitt left many Americans stunned when she took up the job of being the spokesperson of the government. She is, after all, the youngest press secretary at 27.

While her young age left many astounded, Leavitt recently revealed what the president himself thought about her employment.

In a video that recently went viral on social media, the 27-year-old was heard sharing why Trump apparently chose her for the job.

Speaking in the interview, Karoline Leavitt revealed why she was chosen for the important job despite being considered “too young” for being press secretary, per Irish Star.

Sharing what Trump told her when he chose her for the role, Leavitt said, “He has spoken publicly about it, how many people told him that I was too young to have this position, and he told me, ‘You’re not. When I was 21, I was building buildings in Manhattan, and I believe you can have this job.’”

She further added that it is the president’s utmost desire to boost the young workforce of the country which helped her land the job.

“So the president believes in the young people of this country, [and] the future generations, the next generation of leaders, and he wants to leave the country better off for us and for our children and our grandchildren,” shared the New Hampshire native.

Karoline Leavitt credits husband Nicholas Riccio’s real-estate empire for her success

Karoline Leavitt’s interview about Donald Trump’s views on her employment came just a few days after she attributed her political “success” to her husband, Nicholas Riccio’s real-estate empire.

She met her husband, who is 32 years her senior, when she was 25, and he was 57.

Speaking with Megyn Kelly during an interview, Leavitt gushed about her husband while revealing that he has been her number one support system since day one.

“He's built a very successful business himself, so now he's fully supportive of me building my success in my career,” Leavitt said, speaking about her husband, who also happens to be the head of a multi-million-dollar real-estate company, per the Daily Beast.

Boasting a net worth of around $6 million, Riccio even financially backed Leavitt when she ran for a seat in the US House of Representatives in 2022.

Gushing about her husband, the spokesperson admitted that despite their “atypical’ age difference, she has zero regrets, adding, “He’s the father of my child, and he’s the best dad I could ever ask for. And he is so supportive, especially during a very chaotic period of life.”

During the interview, she also credited Riccio’s financial stability being one the primary reasons for her being able to pursue her political dreams completely.

"I say, 'I walked into your life and it's been a circus ever since,' but God bless him because he's fully on board," quipped Leavitt.
