WASHINGTON, DC: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Wednesday, March 25, shared the moments of her baby shower, expressing gratitude to her friends for organising the event as she prepares to welcome a daughter. 

The festive event, held on March 22 at the Trump National Golf Club in Washington, served as a heartwarming gathering of her friends and family just weeks before her due date in May.

Leavitt took to Instagram and uploaded a carousel of eight pictures showcasing the celebration, stating, "My beautiful friends threw me a beautiful baby shower, and I couldn’t be more grateful." 

She emphasized the importance of her community, adding, "I feel blessed to have so many strong and loving women in my life." 

Looking ahead, she wrote, "Can’t believe we will welcome our little lady into the world in a few weeks."

She also thanked the photographer, stating, “Thank you to the wonderful @ahanksphoto for capturing this lovely day.”

Several from White House administration gather for celebration

The private, pink-themed event drew nearly 50 prominent figures from the administration, including Attorney General Pam Bondi and US Attorney Jeanine Pirro. 

The guest list featured spouses of several cabinet members, including Allison Lutnick, Kathryn Burgum, and Rachel Campos Duffy, alongside high-ranking officials such as Lynne Patton and Sonny Joy Nelson. 

Leavitt’s own press office team also attended in full force, with staffers like Anna Kelly and Abigail Jackson joining the festivities to toast the upcoming arrival.

Karoline Leavitt becomes first pregnant White House press secretary

Leavitt first announced her pregnancy with husband Nicholas Riccio on December 26, 2025, calling the news of a baby girl due in May 2026 "the greatest Christmas gift."

The announcement featured photos of her cradling her baby bump by a Christmas tree. Leavitt expressed her excitement to see Niko take on his new role, stating, "My husband and I are thrilled to grow our family and can’t wait to watch our son become a big brother." 

She shared her deep faith, adding, "My heart is overflowing with gratitude to God for the blessing of motherhood, which I truly believe is the closest thing to Heaven on Earth." 

She also thanked President Trump and Susie Wiles for fostering a "pro-family environment."

Despite the upcoming addition, a senior official confirmed she will remain in her position, making her America's first pregnant press secretary.
