WASHINGTON, DC: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt mocked former president Joe Biden on social media while climbing the steps of Air Force One, the Irish Star reported on Saturday, March 8.

The 82-year-old former commander-in-chief was known for taking multiple tumbles while boarding the aircraft throughout his term in the White House. In March 2021, he infamously tripped thrice on his way up the red-carpeted stairs.

Biden had people across the political aisle concerned about his physical and mental health to continue as POTUS during the later years of his presidency. While he did initially put his name on the ballot for reelection in 2024, he later stepped down as the concerns became overwhelming following his performance in the first presidential debate against incumbent Donald Trump.

Karoline Leavitt, the youngest person in history to assume the role of the White House Press Secretary, took to Instagram Stories on Friday, March 8, to share a series of posts while flying from Washington, DC to Palm Beach, Florida. She reportedly did not share the reason for undertaking the journey or whom she was traveling with.

In one of the posts, Leavitt filmed herself walking up the red-carpeted stairs of the plane, which are used by presidents and other similarly distinguished dignitaries.

"These are the stairs Biden used to trip up," she captioned the clip, along with a smiley face emoji, making fun of the former POTUS.

Karoline Leavitt's jibe comes amid feud with mainstream media

Mainstream media have been facing the wrath of Karoline Leavitt for not toeing the administration's line since Donald Trump assumed Office. Recently, Reuters received a similar bashing from the Trump aide for allegedly reporting "fake news".

Citing multiple insider sources, Reuters had published on March 6 that Trump was planning to revoke temporary legal status for approximately 240,000 Ukrainian refugees who arrived in the US during their country's war with Russia.

"This is more fake news from Reuters based on anonymous sources who have no idea what they are talking about. The truth: no decision has been made at this time," Leavitt announced in a post on X.

However, the statement did not refute the claim made by the news agency.
