VIRGINIA, UNITED STATES: The father of a 5-year-old has been arrested for assaulting his son, wrapping the child's body in twine, and keeping it in a freezer for several years.

More than a decade later, he has now been sentenced after the discovery of the young boy's body in a garage freezer.

Additionally, revelations about Kassceen's abusive behavior towards his wife have also come to light as per Law & Crime.

What happened in the recent court hearing?

As reported by Law & Crime, Kassceen Weaver has been sentenced to 20 years in a state correctional facility for the killing of his son, Eliel Adon Weaver.

The state circuit court judge issued the sentence last week after Weaver was convicted by a jury on charges of felony murder, felony child neglect, and concealing a dead body.

Initially, Eliel's mother, Dina Weaver, was arrested and charged in connection with the boy's death. Still, those charges were dropped amid allegations that she too had been a victim of physical and emotional abuse by her husband.

Although the boy's remains were discovered in 2021, authorities determined that he was killed on October 23, 2018, and his body was stored in a freezer in the family's garage for 2 years.

In May 2021, the boy's body was found in the freezer at the home Weaver shared with his wife and son.

Both parents were charged in June 2021 with conspiring to conceal a body and were later released on bond.

Kassceen Weaver’s brother-in-law reports Police

The investigation into Weaver was initiated when his brother-in-law contacted the police, expressing concerns about his sister being in a domestic violence situation.

Subsequently, Weaver faced charges of maliciously wounding a female and domestic assault and battery for allegedly abusing his wife.

Authorities noted that Weaver had "manipulated" his wife, who had reportedly endured years of abuse at his hands.

Before the discovery of the son's body, the brother-in-law informed the police that Weaver's sister had confided in him about her deceased son, mentioning that the boy had passed away approximately two years prior in May 2021.

According to the brother-in-law, Weaver's sister disclosed that Weaver had not reported their son's death to the police.

Instead, she revealed that Weaver had placed the body in their garage freezer, citing concerns about bruising. This information prompted authorities to obtain a search warrant for Weaver's residence.

In court documents, prosecutors stated that investigators executing the warrant swiftly located the boy's remains. Authorities searched multiple freezers in Weaver's garage, discovering a box containing human remains identified later as Eliel.

The remains were bound with twine, wrapped in adult clothing, placed in a tote bag, and placed in a plastic container before being stored in the freezer.

During court proceedings, Weaver's wife testified under oath that on the night of their son's death, Weaver called her and reported that their son had lost consciousness and stopped breathing.

According to Weaver's wife, he claimed to have attempted CPR but refused to seek medical assistance when unsuccessful. After realizing Eliel had passed away, Weaver's wife stated that he wrapped their son's body and placed him in the freezer.
