Kelly Osbourne says grief left her unable to eat as she regains nearly 30 pounds
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kelly Osbourne has reflected on her drastic weight loss ahead of the 2026 BRIT Awards in February and how she’s in a healthier place now.
While speaking with The Sun recently, the TV personality claimed that she’s gained nearly 30 lbs (13.8 kgs) after shocking red carpet photos emerged earlier this year.
Kelly Osbourne claims she was shocked to see her pictures like everyone else
Kelly shared, “I didn’t know that I looked like that until I saw the pictures. When I saw them, I couldn’t believe it. I was as shocked as everyone else. It wasn’t an eating disorder. I just couldn’t do anything for myself,” before asserting, “Eating made me feel like I wanted to throw up.”
The 41-year-old lost her father, Ozzy Osbourne, in July last year. She and her former fiance Sid Wilson also went their separate ways soon after the Black Sabbath legend’s death, making 2025 “the worst year” for her.
“In so many ways, I can’t even explain to you. But it’s also been really beautiful because I’ve learned that my grief is an honor, as I truly love someone that much,” she explained.
Kelly Osbourne reveals she begged her late father to help her
Kelly further disclosed to the publication that she even asked for help from her dead father as she faced weight loss struggles
“I know this sounds woo-woo, but I do candle magic a lot. My dad told me he would send me messages. It felt like everything inside me was dead, and I didn’t want my son to see me like this,” she said.
Kelly has a three-year-old son, Sidney, with her ex-fiance.
“I went to my dad’s grave with a white candle and I wrote a wish on it saying, ‘Please help me.’ The next day, my mom showed up in a black Mercedes with a man in a mustard-colored jacket,” she revealed.
The man was therapist and life coach Chris Miller, who saved and changed her life “in so many ways I never thought possible.”
Kelly Osbourne urges people to show 'a little bit of understanding'
Elsewhere during the interview, Kelly also talked about rising to fame as a teenager on her family’s reality show, ‘The Osbournes’, and the disadvantages of it.
“Most people aren’t kind. I was just asking for a little bit of understanding, because there’s a lot more to the story than meets the eye,” she shared, adding, “I’m not a kid anymore. I’m 42 this month, and I keep getting treated like a 16-year-old, which I find baffling.”
“No one knows what people are dealing with in private. I was just sad. I don’t wish that pain on anyone ever. And to do that in front of everyone just sucked,” Kelly added.
