LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kevin Federline is breaking his silence on his split from Britney Spears, recounting what he says was the "final straw" in their marriage in his new memoir, 'You Thought You Knew'.

The 47-year-old former dancer, who was married to Spears between 2004 and 2007, alleged he was "crushed" by late-night phone calls from Spears, now 43, while he heard their sons Sean Preston and Jayden James crying in the background.

Kevin Federline describes Britney Spears 'drunk call'

Federline described one particular instance in the book when his phone rang in the early morning while he was working in Miami. Spears was reportedly partying with Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. He said she was "drunk as hell, begging me to come over," with Sean Preston, now 20, and Jayden, now 19, heard crying in the background.

He admitted he'd "already seen" the subsequently famous photos of the group partying, but getting that call was his "final straw." That moment, he said, snuffed “any deep-seated sliver of hope that I’d held onto, that we might still somehow pull it together for the kids, died right then."

Federline maintained, “It wasn’t a one-time thing, either. It was all part of that reckless pattern," and said Spears "wasn't ready to change" and he was fed up with "waiting for her" to do so.

Britney Spears responds in 'The Woman In Me' memoir

Spears discussed this "supposedly crazy night" with Hilton and Lohan in her 2023 memoir, 'The Woman In Me'. She said she had been staying in a beach house while her mother, Lynne Spears, cared for Sean Preston and Jayden. Spears said she, Hilton, and Lohan went out and got "drunk," which led to a "huge fight" with her mother. She insisted, "I'd had her babysit so I could go out responsibly, without the kids seeing their mother under the influence."

A spokesperson for Spears rebutted Federline's claims: “With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin. All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir.”

Spears also expressed frustration on X, saying she's "had enough" of Federline "constantly gaslighting" her. On October 15, she wrote, "I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys. Relationships with teenage boys is complex. I have felt demoralized by this situation and have always asked and almost begged for them to be a part of my life."
