MUNCIE, INDIANA: Khalil Malik McCraney has been arrested by the Indianapolis department after firing rounds of bullets at a woman.

The individual targeted was within her residence when the assault occurred. The person responsible asserts that the incident was a matter of "self-defense," disputing the police's characterization of it as an ambush.

Moreover, he fired almost 10 times more than he claimed in an initial investigation.

The Suspect’s father Tyjuan Darryl McCraney also charged

The suspect’s father, Tyjuan Darryl McCraney, 44, is also charged with driving him to the crime scene and providing him with a rifle as they plotted possible murder, as per Law&Crime.

According to authorities, the victim endured four gunshot wounds but fortunately survived the attack.

After asserting that the shooting was an act of self-defense within a woman's apartment, Khalil claimed that earlier on the same day, the victim had come and discharged a firearm at his grandfather's residence.

He then told his father Tyjuan “Imma take care of this now” after spotting the woman. However, there’s no footage found to support his claim.

What are the charges against the father-son duo?

Khalil McCraney is charged with attempted murder and criminal recklessness. His father got booked for aiding, inducing, or causing an offense; conspiracy; unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.

Curiously, Tyjuan McCraney, a convicted individual prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a 2016 strangulation case, still supplied his son with the rifle utilized in the incident.

In an unrelated case, a mother of three was ambushed inside a car in Queens, New York. The incident took place on December 26, when the woman died and the driver was injured.

Clarisa Burgos, 28, was in a black Honda sedan that was pulled over near 127th Street and Liberty Avenue in Richmond Hill when she and the 39-year-old male driver (name not identified), came under fire just before midnight, reports MEAWW.

“We’ve raised her in a good way, with love,” her aunt told the NYP. “God knows what has happened to her," she said.

According to video footage, the Post reported that a man is seen passing the car on the sidewalk while two men in dark clothes slowly cross the street and approach it.
