NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The 12 jury members in the Donald Trump criminal hush money trial, who unanimously convicted the former president at the Manhattan Criminal Court on Thursday, May 30, are reportedly being threatened by anonymous MAGA supporters.

However, Republican National Committee (RNC) chair Lara Trump held President Joe Biden and New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg responsible for the situation, RawStory reported.

Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of felony for falsifying business records by the entire jury panel after they deliberated the case for more than 9 hours. It marked a significant moment in the history of the United States as it was the first time that a former president of the country was convicted of a crime.

Penalties faced by the presumptive GOP nominee include fines and up to 4 years in prison on each count. He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 11, four days before the Republican National Convention.

The threat against jury members

Advance Democracy, a nonprofit that conducts public interest research, stated that there has been a high volume of social media posts targeting Judge Juan Merchan, DA Bragg, and members of the jury, since the conviction of Donald Trump in the hush money trial, NBC News reported on Saturday, June 1.

Posts were seen with purported addresses of the DA, as well as jury members, though it is not unclear whether they have been correctly identified. They contained violent rhetoric and called for the targets to be 'doxed' or even killed.

According to the publication, many of the posts that contain violent rhetoric are seen on the same websites that were used by MAGA supporters to organize the Capitol riot of January 6, 2021.

Lara Trump blames Joe Biden over the situation

During an interview with Newsmax on Friday, May 31, Lara Trump blamed President Joe Biden, Judge Merchan, and DA Bragg for any issues surrounding the threat to jurors.

"These jurors are gonna be like, they're gonna find out who these people are. Is Alvin Bragg going to commit to making sure that they maintain their jobs, that they have security, God forbid? Is this what we need to worry about now?" the host asked Trump.

"It's a real thing you have to think about these days now, apparently, thanks to Alvin Bragg, and I'm sure we can say thanks to Joe Biden," she replied.

"It's hard to blame the jurors though, because these people were led down a path so directly to this conclusion by the Judge from the very beginning ... You put these people in this position. Now what happens to them? Now what happens to our country? We can never go back from this point, but we have to take America back," added Trump.

Internet slams Lara Trump for blaming Biden for threats to jury

"Subtle way for them to put out a hit on the jurors and blame someone else," responded a social media user to Lara Trump's take on X.

"Trump supporters are the threat to these jurors, not Alvin Bragg," wrote another.

"Wow! Not even a subtle threat! But real gangster s**t... I hope the FBI provides top notch security to the judge, jurors and their families. They did America and the rest of the world a great service," expressed one person.

"No, if the jurors are threatened it is 100% the fault of Trump and his supporters @laraLeaTrump," another commented

"The party of law and order thinks it's OK to attack and harrass jurors who convicted trump. Got it," one individual added.
