MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of former president Donald Trump, is intensifying her warnings about the dire consequences she believes will follow if Kamala Harris wins the 2024 presidential race.

With polls showing an exceptionally tight race and less than three months until Election Day, the Republican National Committee co-chair, delivered a stark message on Thursday, August 8, on her podcast, 'The Right View.'

Lara Trump claims Harris presidency could lead to global conflict

"Can you truly tell me that you're going to be able to look at your kids when we are actually in a recession, when we're actually in World War III, when things are dissolving around us, and the country that we've always known is absolutely in shambles, and you're going to be able to look at your kids and say, yeah, I voted for this?" Lara Trump asked her audience, staring directly into the camera.

"This is serious," the 41-year-old, who is married to Trump's son Eric Trump, highlighted what she sees as a very real threat to America's future. According to Lara, the nation is "on the verge of a lot of terrible things happening in our country and in our world" if voters choose Harris over her father-in-law.

Trump weighs in on market turmoil as polls show tight race with Harris leading

Lara Trump's alarming rhetoric echoes the former president’s past warnings about economic collapse and global conflict should he not secure a second term.

On Monday, amid a massive global market sell-off, Trump seized the moment to brand the downturn as the “Kamala crash,” on his social media, warning that this was just the beginning of an economic catastrophe if Harris were elected, per New York Post. However, the markets rebounded throughout the week, regaining most of the losses by Friday.

Judge Juan Merchan scheduled Trump's criminal trial to begin on April 15, which would make it the first criminal prosecution of a former American president. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records last year, which prosecutors say was an effort to hide a potential sex scandal, both before and after the 2016 election. Despite this recovery, Lara continued on the fierce narrative, declaring, "You see that everything seems to be trending in the wrong direction, not the least of which lately is the stock market. We're on the verge of a major recession."

Trump's daughter in law also pointed to the cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline in 2021, which Lara claimed was responsible for spiking gas prices, despite expert consensus that other factors had a more significant impact on oil market prices during the Biden administration. She further accused Biden administration policies of driving inflation.

Notably, polls have shown the vice president running neck-and-neck with the twice-impeached former president in the race. The Real Clear Politics average of recent polls now shows Harris leading Trump by half a point in a head-to-head matchup, placing them in a statistical tie.

Trump Lara urges voters to privately support Trump

Nevertheless, Lara Trump didn’t stop there, joining other Republicans in criticizing Kamala Harris's role as the so-called “border czar.” GOP lawmakers have repeatedly targeted Harris over border issues, a responsibility President Joe Biden assigned to her early in his administration to address the root causes of migration.

During her podcast, the RNC co-chair argued that voters don’t even need to share their choice for president publicly, urging them to vote for her father-in-law in the privacy of the ballot box. “You vote for Donald Trump, and you don’t have to tell anybody about that, but you know deep down that you did the right thing for the future of America,” she claimed.

Lara also criticized Harris's career trajectory, claiming the vice president had "failed upward her entire career" and attributing her position to gender rather than merit. "Don't ever give me a position based on the fact that I'm a woman, either I earned it or I didn't," said the former television producer.
