WASHINGTON, DC: Controversial MAGA influencer Laura Loomer hinted she was behind Mike Waltz's ouster as President Donald Trump's national security advisor on Thursday, May 1, and called for more firings.

Loomer also claimed credit for the firing of Waltz's deputy, Alex Wong, whom she targeted in several critical posts in March, accusing him of advancing Chinese interests over the United States, as per The Daily Beast.

Laura Loomer took to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, May 1, and wrote, "National Security Advisor Mike Waltz @MikeWaltz47 along with his Chinese deputy NSC Advisor Alex Wong have 'resigned' from the Trump admin today."

She added, "Hopefully, the rest of the people who were set to be fired but were given promotions at the NSC under Waltz also depart."

Loomer later shared a post about Wong’s firing with the caption, "SCALP," and attached a March 26 post of hers where she criticized Wong.

After meeting Loomer in Washington, DC, on April 3, Trump fired multiple National Security Council officials on the same day but left Waltz untouched for the time being.

The NSC purge was proof that the far-right conspiracy theorist had the president’s ear, per the outlet.

Meanwhile, Loomer reacted to Waltz’s firing with a one-word text to Politico — "Loomered."

Waltz had a rough time during his 100 days in office under Trump. His troubles started in March when The Atlantic reported that he added its editor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, to a Signal group chat that discussed attack plans on Houthi targets in Yemen, as per The Daily Beast.

Despite the embarrassing gaffe, the POTUS still backed Waltz and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

However, behind the scenes, Trump and his team began searching for Waltz’s replacement, Politico reported on Thursday.

In another X post on Thursday, Loomer stressed, "VETTING MATTERS. Don’t ever forget that."

Trump announced that Secretary of State Marco Rubio will serve as national security advisor in the interim and that he was nominating Waltz to be the next US ambassador to the United Nations.
