Lauren Boebert says Hillary Clinton evaded questions in Epstein deposition
WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Lauren Boebert defended her conduct on Thursday after attending former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private deposition in the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into convicted offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Boebert alleged that Clinton “evaded” key questions and dismissed criticism of her own approach during the session. She claimed the former secretary was detailed on minor topics but often unclear when asked difficult questions.
Clinton struggled with detail, claims Boebert
Speaking to Newsmax on Thursday, Boebert said Clinton was her “normal self” during the deposition, providing vague answers on questions about her past associations with Epstein. Boebert attended the session in Chappaqua, New York, as part of the House Oversight Committee’s inquiry.
“Now, other topics that didn’t have much relevance, she could recall in great detail, but it was very difficult to get clear answers from the former secretary on some of these more difficult issues,” Boebert said. She added that Clinton frequently could not recall specifics when asked pointed questions.
Boebert says committee wanted public hearing
Boebert criticized the committee’s handling of the deposition format, noting that Republicans had initially pushed for an open public hearing. The request was ultimately denied, with assurances that transcripts and video would be released after attorney review.
“For seven months, we have been working with the Clintons through the Oversight Committee to get them in for an open public hearing,” Boebert said. “And they kept refusing and denying.”

After threatening contempt of Congress, Boebert said both Clintons agreed to the private deposition format. She also noted that videos and transcripts are expected to be released once reviewed by attorneys.
Boebert mentioned the possibility of Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick testifying about his relationship with Epstein, following his admitted visits to Epstein’s private property.
‘Could not get any truth from her’
Boebert said Clinton did not give clear answers when asked about photos involving Bill Clinton in the Epstein files. “She did admit that it was her husband, but she could not admit where they were, when they were taken, who they were taken with, and why they were taken,” Boebert said. “It was very difficult to actually get any truth from her.”
“[Hillary Clinton] was shown photos of Bill Clinton that were released in the Epstein files… She could not admit where they were, when they were taken, who they were taken with… and what he was doing with those women.”
